Eh?
This was posted by a Gamestop employee, so prolly true, and according to Gamestop's computer, it's coming on July 3rd for $15 featuring 8 characters for those who want a DLC version. Those who want a disc based version will have to wait until July 24th and pay $40...
Assuming this is all true, what "new" characters do you think they'll dish out next? Perhaps the real Megaman, or reuse the one that was in TxSF? awesome

Well...at least there would be a DLC version this time.
The only character I'd want is Psylocke but I heard that Sven said that it's "completely fake".
Yeah it's fake. Thank God.
Earlier in the week, NeoGAF forum poster cednym showed off a promotional image of the supposedly-upcoming Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3X, promising 8 new characters and added balance tweaks to the already substantial boost of last November's Ultimate upgrade.Claiming to have a source who worked at GameStop, further information on UMvC3X stated that it would initially be released as DLC on July 3rd for $14.99, and as a packaged disc on July 24th for $39.99 (pricing and release-stagger mirroring the Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition upgrade).
Naturally, Capcom has responded, with VP Christian Svennson simply commenting:
"Just got back from GDC so I’ll make this short: that is completely fake."
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 producer Ryota Niitsuma, who has commented on wanting to put even more characters in the game, also stated:
"The DLC costumes are out, and for now that is all."
For the final blow, Capcom Community Manager and crosshand play specialist Seth Killian added:
"Sorry guys, <3 photoshop, but no UMVC3x coming from Capcom."
They don't do it out of laziness, but to squeeze more money out of you before they're able to have GotY editions of a game..
Anyhow, some people on other forum(s) are still denying that UMvC3X is fake, since Capcom had denounced the existence of UMvC3 and the leaked characters before they revealed it themselves at one point. And there's this.

I'll be somewhat surprised if that's actually legit since Megaman's on there, and at least half the "new" characters out of the 8 are veterans from MvC2. >.> Still, not too bad if this is true.
Pic is fake. That was around before UMVC3 even came out. It has Gambit whom Marvel doesn't seem to interested in having in this game.(having already vetoed him twice) and two SF characters when the creators said they didn't want to put that many in and wanted to focus more on characters that don't originate from fighting games. I can see them maybe adding one more, but no more afterwards.
Not saying that there won't be another update. We'll have to wait and see. If so here's my list of characters
Marvel
Moon Knight - Basically Marvel's Batman and the game is still lacking a staff user. Was supposed to have a relaunch, but got canceled. He could have been one of the characters Marvel wanted to promote.
Scarlet Witch - Could be a female Avengers rep. And Marvel apparently has big plans for her this year. So should could have been one of the characters they wanted to promote.
Medusa - There's an Inhumans movie supposedly in the works. She could also be a character Marvel wanted to promote. Could also have an interesting and unique moveset using her hair powers.
Songbird - My most wanted female Marvel rep. Her sonic screams and maybe a couple wrestling moves could interesting. It'd be also nice to have a Thunderbolts rep.
Capcom
Mega Man - Mostly so his obnoxious fanbase will shut up(not referring the rational MM fans of course) and to see if he ended up requiring high execution and were hard to use to see how many of the thousands of MM fans would actually use him.*cough Strider and Phoenix Wright cough*
Gene - After playing Godhand, I can see why people want him. He can have almost as many moves as Dante.
Asura - I liked his game and I could see him getting added for Capcom to promote it.
Talbain - Nistuma did say if he could add any more DS characters it would be Talbain.

Need
Do people still not know how to use this word? And Zangief isn't really needed considering we already have Haggar.

The main complaints seem to be the character choices for the roster. People seem to have just wanted this to be MVC2.5. Combine someone who just bases everything off a cartoon from the 90s with a narrow mind and there's the problem. They think that only characters THEY'VE been exposed to should be in.If the Marvel side is really the result of Marvel meddling, then I hope they continue doing it. Because if the general public always had their way, every Marvel game would consist of Wolverine, Cyclops, Storm, Iceman, Psylocke, Rogue, Gambit, Cable, Nightcrawler, Magneto, Juggernaut, Sabretooth, Spider-man, Venom, Carnage, Deadpool, Cap, Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, Blade, Punisher, Doom, and the F4. It would just be the same roster over and over and over again. We'd barely get any newcomers and classic characters like Hawkeye, Strange, and Iron Fist never would have gotten a chance to shine.
As for the Capcom side, it would be filled to SF characters, because people don't realize that there's more to Capcom than just that and that they've been in plenty of FG, whereas other Capcom characters don't get many chances to be in a FG. Not to mention they already have a crossover with Tekken coming out. Their excuse is usually "We wouldn't have MVC if it wasn't for SF" or "SF started the vs series so they should have more characters". This doesn't mean that everything time a vs game comes, they should have a bunch of SFer's in our faces.
*Bump* I grew up in the era those fans are clinging to, and they drive me crazy. Richard Rider actually makes it into a game, and instead of maybe wanting to learn something about the character, they boo-hoo about how a C lister (That's right, the star of Annihilation War and Thanos Imperative is a C lister ) is taking a spot away from their precious fan favorite..
I give Capcom credit for bucking the status quo a little..

I don't mind oldies, I just mind complaining that a newbie like Dr. Strange or Nova is taking a spot away from an oldie.
Wolverines been in every Vs game there is, give us Iron Fist or Nova fans our turn now. (Even if I like Wolverine too. 😛 )

Exactly. I mean I often see people complaining about Captain Commando and Jin not being in. And I'm sure the majority of these people only know them because of the previous games. Hell the latter's game hasn't even been released in America. If these guys weren't in the previous games, but were in MVC3, I'm certain that the people's attitudes towards the "characters nobody wanted" would also go towards them.
And speaking of C-listers, I also see requests for a character who would be fortunate to be called C-list. He started off as a supporting character in a long-running comic and later landed one of the main roles in a small team book. This book was cancelled after breaking into the double digits. Said character was then given his own shot at a solo series. That book was also cancelled shortly after breaking double-digits. Every single time the character has been thrown in another series, it's almost never lasted more than six issues. That character is named Blade. Who's popularity mostly comes not from the comics, but from his movies. Had his movies not been made, people wouldn't give a damn about him.
And also take the Super Smash Bros games for instance. If people were thinking of a crossover fighting game with Ninento characters back then, I don't think characters like Captain Falcon, Ness, Ice Climbers, Mr Game & Watch, ROB, or any of the Fire Emblem characters would come to mind. Hell if Captain Falcon never was in those games and someone suggested him people would be like "How's he gonna fight? All he does is just race cars!"
