Bardock's Losing Weight Thread

Started by BackFire21 pages

Good luck you German anal prostitute.

I'm also trying to lose weight. I recently just got an elliptical that I've been doing several times a week. So we can be online exercise buddies (as well as butt buddies).

One thing that seems to work for me, drink a lot of water. Drink water when you are feeling hungry, it may lower your appetite a bit. I now realize that sometimes I would eat thinking that I was hungry, when in reality I was simply thirsty. You probably already know this, but worth saying anyways.

Farenheit works too though.

But stone, pounds and ounces aren't as bad as farenheit becaue as it's a measurement of mass it starts at a logical place. 0kg = 0st whereas 0ºC doesn't = 0F

Well you could make the argument that 0°C isn't 0 K, but my problem with miles and stone in particular, which I don't have so much with farenheit is that the fractions are just bothersome to work with in our predominantly decimal societies.

1 stone = 224 ounces
1 stone = 14 pounds

1 mile = 1760 yards
1 yard = 36 inches

Farenheit just has weird cornerstones 0 F doesn't meant anything and neither do 100 F. It's not closely related to human activity.

The metric system is just easier to work with, imo.

Considering your BMI, I'd start with long walks, going up and down some stairs and other fairly low-impact exercises. Don't want to pull something and then have to be out for some time.

Most of your early wight lose will be from eating less and eating right. Don't make the error of completely cutting yourself off from foods you love, as you'll likely just splurge later, as old habitss are hard to break. EG, if you love ice-cream like me, still allow yourself to have some, just not often and have only one very small portion at a time.

Yeah, I'll have to start with low impact stuff, since I am not too closely monitored by my physician I think it would be better to start off not ...break a leg or something.

The thing is, You rarely convert between different imperial messures so it's not really an issue. Miles are never made into yards and stones are never made into ounces.

I prefer Feet and Inches for height and I prefer Stone and Pounds for weight. It's easier to visualise in my mind. When someone says their 192cm I simply can't picture it in terms of height, I know exactly how long it is but I couldn't compare it to my own height if that makes sense. Same with weight. It's obviouslly because I'm used to it but being able to convert freely between metric and imperial is never going to be a bad thing. I just can't picture things like distances, weights of people and people's heights in metric.

It's not like we don't use metric though. All products in our shops use the metric system (minus milk and beer in pubs) as does petrol. And when we officially record our height and weight we use the metric system... And obviously all science uses it.

Glad that's out of the way... 💃

BTW, my mass is almost exactly 100KG and I am almost exactly 176.5cm in height.

I think that's indeed down to what one has been brought up with

Yeah, I know, Britain's really not that bad for it, in the US it is much more included in daily life, like cooking for example.

I imagined you were short and fat, you're a rapist of the large variety.

Good thing for you, you don;t necessarily have to lose a mass amount of weight, you could drop 40-50, but lower your BMI.

It's more that conversion isn't used due to the fact that the imperial system isn't used for anything that needs to be precise. An increase of figures to provide a greater accuracy is what we use the metric system for.

I just find a lot of them to be nice measurements... If you want to talk about a size less than a a metre you can just say "a foot" or "a couple of feet" as well as "half a metre". Same with weights and all imperisal values, it's just more measurements you can throw into general conversation.

Anyone thing it's just a coincidence Bardock42 decides to better his health on Hitler's birthday?

Or on the day you're suppose to get high and eat everything.

Yeah I'd like to get to around 220 or so.

You skinny skinny lady. You need to add weight. How do you even stay anchored to the ground when you fart?

As my 5-year old daughter says, "girls don't fart, only boys do."

Losing weight can be easy. I still eat unhealthy and fattening foods for my meals, but for my between meal snacks, I cut out potato chips, cookies, etc; I usually eat fruit, or a bowl of raisin bran. I was 250ish a coupla months ago, down to 231 now. Pretty soon I am gonna work on my meals, get down to 190-200.
