( uh so I forget these things.....*sigh*)
"Alright I will, I do not know how to operate the Astrolabe. And again I will stress the point that the operation of Astrolabe could lead to dangerous places."

"I don't NEED it operated!" says the man. "Just tell me what it DOES!"

"There's no need to shout. *sigh*...the astrolabe is a map....a map to sith worlds. I would not recommend going to any of them. By the way, may I ask you your name and who you work for?"

"My name is Nayler and I am a Prelate in the Order of Miramar," he says. "And you are certain that that is a Sith device?"

Sieri thinks for a moment, " Yes, as far as I know....this Astrolabe is a Sith map."

"And how come it had been allowed to exist?" he asks.

(If you need more help, Jules, just ask)

"You may sit," Xeth says to the Rodian. He then closes the door so that he and Gundy may talk with him in private.

"I am Xeth and this is Master Gundark. We are Jedi, as you no doubt have realized. You are under the impression that you are being arrested or something. That is not the situation. We are just here to question you about a very important matter. Are you familiar with this man?" Xeth shows the Rodian a hologram of Ascar.

"I know a LOT of people..." says the Rodian.

"I do too, but do you know this man in particular?" Xeth asks.

"Well, I don't know..." says the gambler. "SO many people come though here... if only I had something to jog my memory..."

"He doesn't worry about loosing money here," Kellan pointed out. "He's a big winner, as a matter of fact."

"Ooh, probably... I always find making money makes my head a lot clearer about things..."

Kellan nudged one of Xeth's wings. "Pay him. But be mindful of the credits we have left," she murmured under her breath.

Bribing him would take all your remaining mission allocation of funds.

(Okay - scratch that)

Kellan made a show of pacing briefly then feigning resignation. "This is not a matter of money here. This Ascar is carrying an extremely dangerous virus that he unknowingly contracted on Malastare," she lied expertly. "Now this virus is still in a stage of dormancy. But if we don't locate Ascar within 12 hours, the virus will not only kill the man but infect most of the local population within 2 days," she paused to let this sink into the Rodian's brain, giving Xeth a sideways knowing look. "This is highly classified information," she continued. "We don't want to alarm the general public of course."

The gambler laughs.

"Nice try, Jedi," he says, "But two things; one, your run in with Ascar's headquarters on Malastare made big news. I know what you really want him for. Two, if I HAD met this man you are looking for- in theory- then don't you think he might have mentioned the sort of things you might try and say? Let's say- still in theory- I had been told there would be a female Jedi Master named Gundark who would be looking for him. He might have been VERY specific about what I should do. And he is a rich man after all."

His thoughts are clear, Gundark- he is solid. He was solid from the moment Xeth told him he was not in trouble- he knows you are Jedi, and so will not do anything to an innocent man. Money or force is all he will understand and he knows you will not use force.

Hate this place yet?

Don't be ashamed to bribe him, btw; Xeth, you always knew this was going to be a costly ride if you were going to get results with any speed- and you badly need to be fast. But you will need to hope you don't run into this deadlock with anyone ELSE along the way.

"Being a good guy always has it's disadvantages..." Xeth says as he prepares to pay the Rodian. "Should I bribe him Master Gundark? He knows we wouldn't kill him outright or remove a limb or two unless he shot at us (which I don't think he'll do), so it seems that money is the only way to get him to talk."

Note to self: bring more money to Nar Shadda Xeth thinks.

The frustration that had dogged her on Malastare threatened to cloud her judgement and she pushed it aside. "Pay him," she told Xeth, giving the Rodian a dirty look and enjoying the small measure of satisfaction it gave her. She couldn't recall a mission having given her more trouble than this errand the Supreme Chancellor had sent her and her fellow Jedi on.

The Rodian smiles.

"'Ascar' was only here to pay me off after the Malastare Open to keep me sweet on him. He's mainly come here to meet some important people, I don't know who. He's gone to a fixer named Androni. Know him?"

Yeah, you've heard of Androni, Xeth. Nar Shadda is a place to meet millions of people but it can be hard to find the right person. Fixers arrange for people to meet people and by this simple service they make a lot of money. Androni is a high-class fixer; he works in cultured circles.

"Yes, I know him. Do you know where we can find him?" Xeth asks.

(Or does Xeth already know?)
