i think he has more abilities with the board than without it. like thor cant do certain things without mjolnir but he is still 100 strength level without it

the board doesnt give him any powers. except maybe makes it easier for him to fly. its an extention of himself that he can recreate at will.

Same here. Supes should win this, but theres a chance he cant. Give Surfer his board and blood lust and the outcome shouldnt be in question.

Surfer doesn't need his board to fly but he also kind of does.In the warlock/surfer ressuerection pip steals his board and surfer is just sitting there for pip to bring him to adam.But surfer also can't really move without it.
I suppose he could propell himself with cosmic energy and thats what it looked like he was doing when he was "flying".
Surfer cannot recreate his board but he can make it into pure cosmic energy and move it whcih is what he did to escape his earth imprisonment.
As for fight with bloodlusted supes and surfer with no board supes takes it easy.

He has it because back in the 60's Jack Kirby was like "Dude, ever see someone flyin' on a surfboard? No? Watch this ****."

I think he flies faster with it. Like warp speeds faster. And he can trap people in it. That's about it as far as I can tell. In theory it could be anything because he's remade the board himself. If he wanted to he could make it a silver Huffy.

So true, Surfer is such a product of his time period. Almost picture him in a surfer's pose with beach music playing in the background. Thors hammer knocks him off and you get "Do-do-do, Whipeout!"

Also, why are blackholes such jobbers in comics?

Supposedly, Kirby came up with the surfboard because he was "tired of drawing spaceships." The Surfer himself was simplistic: no toes, fingernails, no hair nor ears, not even a costume. Heck, all you needed was some blue coloring to simulate silver. I guess Jack was looking for a character that was quick and easy to draw, especially in contrast to the fancy-armored Galactus.
