Friends hooking you up & blind dates

Have any of your friends tried to hook you up with some other friend of theres, and it turned out to be a long lasting meaningful relationship?

Or was it the worst thing ever

It seemed that "they" always hooked me up with ugly bitches. I know, I know, shallow......but.......it goes looks THEN personality, damnit!

I realised straight away that it's just because the other person is depressed that they don't have anyone to love them.

My personal experience was bad. Junior year, my friend was dating a hot chick, a cheerleader. They wanted me to double with her friend, who, well, she looked like she ate the cheerleader..

Being a big girl, that wasn't a real issue, but her face.......looked like the bottom of a work boot.

I've never been hooked up by a friend or been on a blind date. Neither is something I want to try.

when i was younger it was fun.. always seemed to get an attractive girl thanks to the circle of friends and our shallowness... now as an adult i think they suck as most women are just lonely or a dog and desperate..

That my friend is the classic hot girl who has fat friends to make her self look more attractive scenario. I see it all the time.

I made this thread because I'm in current predicament, I was just wondering your guy's expierences. If any of you want to know you can pm me. Its nothing elaborate, but it will probably make me sound like a total douche to the ladies in here.

I think the pressure behind blind dates makes them usually end in disasters. Which is why I never participate in setting people up even if they seem like good matches. Maybe host a party and then see what happens when both are invited, but I never push the issue or even make it known to the 2 that I think they would be good for each other.

I did, and it sucked. The girl was pretty douchebaggy, being nice to virtually no one but me and thinking farting and burping is funny.

Then I see her at school and guess what? She's STILL doing that.

I've gone along with a few of those. We all have fun, but I really didn't click with the guy. All in all it wasn't a total waste. I still had some fun. A person has to have a special type of humor and not afraid to laugh, be playful, adventurous, spontaneous otherwise he may think I'm a bit of a nut. I'm the kid that never grew up and it's nice to have a bestfriend/playmate. And they have to be fun in the sandbox too. 😄

My friend set me up on a blind date....Although he didn't know about it...Neither did his fiance until the night of the date and neither did the police after the date.
