Simple age doesn't indicate prime status. As a Force-user, if the days of your... "ultimate" power are behind you, you're past your prime. Sidious, Dooku, Yoda, Luke, they just kept getting better. Apparently Bane's power and abilities were on the way down.

DoE Bane isn't at his prime, in DoE he's on the way down.

From where he was in RoT. I'd wager Bane in DoE is still more powerful than he was back in PoD.

Oh yeah I'm not disputing that, I'm just saying Bane's prime is with his orbalisks, so without them his 'prime' is an unknown.
