Bendis confirms -- without X wanting to die, Y couldn't have ended it.

He is a bit surprised that people wanted to have, and I quote: "I just didn't want to have a line in the script where someone like Spider-Woman goes, "Boy, if he didn't want us to kill him, we couldn't have killed him." I see a lot of people got it, though, or they were just so happy to see the Sentry die they didn't give a shit how it happened [Laughs].

Brian, you really do. Never overestimate the reader's ability to grasp what's on panel.

In this scene, Thor finally ends the threat of the Void AKA Bob Reynolds by killing him. It seems like when you consider the Void's power level, the only way this could have happened was because the Void wanted to die.

I see there is a lot of online speculation about that, and I thought it was pretty clear. I don't like to over analyze these things. I prefer the work to speak for itself, but I'll put two things out there.

I think we've all met crazy people in our lives, and I think you learn pretty quickly that when you're dealing with a crazy person, you can't trust what they're saying to be true. Just because the Sentry/The Void announced that he had the power of the Molecule Man, it doesn't mean that he actually did. He just thought that he did. He was a crazy person and maybe a drug addict, as the character's creator, Paul Jenkins, put out there. So not everything he was saying wasn't necessarily true. Maybe it was. Maybe it wasn't. I know that's difficult for some people, because when they read a story, they don't want to feel like they're being ****ed with. That character, though, was not in control of himself. There wasn't one second throughout the run of "Dark Avengers" where he was in control of himself.

Number two, yes, Bob realized that things had gone as far as they could possibly go. There was no other end for him and without his cooperation he doesn't go away. I just didn't want to have a line in the script where someone like Spider-Woman goes, "Boy, if he didn't want us to kill him, we couldn't have killed him." I see a lot of people got it, though, or they were just so happy to see the Sentry die they didn't give a shit how it happened [Laughs].

most of Thor fans already knows that..but they decide to just ignore the writer and continue to believe in themself..

Wow, good thing I had read Seige 4 by the time I saw that title.

Oh, wait.

****.

I know. And I don't doubt there will be posters in this same thread trying to somehow spin it, either jokingly or desperately.

It still had to be posted. 🙂

****.

Don't be an AC now.

I edited it. Why wait so long to read the issue? uhuh

Shipment got delayed, been looking forward to reading seige for the past week, avoiding all Marvel related things as a precaution. 🙁

Seriously man, you couldn't have just put "Bendis speaks out on Seige ending"?

Well, f*ck. Sorry about that. The issue sucks, if it's any consolation.

And who gives a shit about this? Tim kicked ass in Red Robin #12.

ha-som

........ Very true.

As compensation for damages, get your ass over to the MA tier thread and vote for Tim to second. I'm gonna go reread that issue and attempt to drink away the last hour of my life.

sentry doesnt have mm's abilites is now cannon

**** YOU sentrytards

I can't figure out who's fighting who in this thread. Is Bendis fighting 'without X wanting to die, Y couldn't have ended it.'?

If so, I think Bendis wins. Mind you without X wanting to die, Y couldn't have ended it. has a really high power level, but I think Bendis could take him out after wearing without X wanting to die, Y couldn't have ended it. down a bit.

I hope RageofOlympus sees this thread before it gets closed 😐

this is so yesterday's news.
ive broke this tidbit out already in the Thor Vs. Void/Sentry thread.

So that's that then.

Sigh.

I guess I'm going to have to start writing letters to Marvel again.

remember to use old news paper/magazine clippings for letters use gloves and sign it with lipstick.. try to make the threats realistic

Why is this in the verses??

its comic readers vs bendis duh..

Because it's super important.

'Score of planets' important.

or even infinite page book important for some
