Rob Lucci was a beast. Literally. He's among the most formidable physical fighters we've seen in One Piece, and Luffy has been ohkoing Sea Kings since chapter one.

What kind of physical power does Yusuke has at that point?

not only that, but luffy was causing a large amount of the damage himself, and the main attack that caused the most damage wasn't a physical attack.

Truthfully though, Haki isn't the be all end all for Luffy. Plenty of times it would've helped him, and it didn't because he didn't use it.
