Doomsday lacks the capacity to brainwash Lois and turn her against Clark as well as kill Clark outright. Darkseid has a thousand more dimensions of torment.

In his last few appearances Doomsday has been relegated to the position of "hired muscle" (elite hired muscle perhaps, but still just hired muscle) rather than his own villain.
