Character with the most AAA runs

Which character has the greatest number of amazing runs? Is it Daredevil? To me, he seems like the character who has had the greatest number of fantastic story arcs over his career, especially in recent years. Any other opinions? What characters are contenders for the title? Who has had the most AAA stories?

He didn't have "runs", but the events where he was an important character were awesome

This may be a bit of a surprise coming from me, but I've yet to be disappointed by any Logan arc where he's operating solo, at or slightly above street level. Enemy of The State is still in my top 3.

Millar's so great at hype. When Wolverine became a bad guy or Gorgon showed up, it genuinely felt like the heroes were in danger. ✅

As for runs, Brubaker's Cap has been great. Daredevil has been consisently good since the Marvel Knights 1998 relaunch.

Ultimate Spider-man has been going since 2000 and has never really dipped in quality that much. At the moment it's really strong.

I usually judge how good an arc is by how much genuine emotional content I get out of the story.

Which is why I like Millar so much. Shock after shock generates strong emotional responses.

If you like the emotional elements, I'd recommend Kevin Smith's two opening arcs to the current series of Daredevil, entitled "Guardian Devil" and "Parts of a Whole." Powerful emotional beats.

Also great for emotional drive is BKV's Y: The Last Man.

It seems that very few writers can master it. Most that try end up going over the top and missing by a country mile. The book(s) end up as little more then shock value books i.e. The Boys.

They do have the most raw material, though they also have a lot of phoned-in work.

Of those three, I'd bet Batman has the most since a lot of writers really want to do a 'great' Batman story. Hm, though I guess a fair number of the most famous ones weren't really part of a run, just stand-alone.

JSA is probably the longest-running "good" book at the moment, imo at least. You can't call them runs though because it's been a single continuous series. But they really have yet to have a letdown since their reboot after the original Crisis.

Daredevil did start late - his was a forgotten title until Frank Miller took him over in 1980. The previous years were forgettable.

Off the top of my head, I'd say Spider Man, Batman, and the Hulk have had the greatest number of interesting story arcs.

That's actually probably true, but those characters are also near the top of the list of number of story arcs period. The percentage of quality is likely lower than someone like DD.

The Green Lanter Books have been good for years and years. Legion of Super Heroes has some amazing stories. All the X titles have had awesome archs and events. Fan Four. Silver Surfer. Flash. Thor. Wonder Woman. JLA. etc.

I'm not sure how much GL has been what I'd call 'AAA,' but a good number of A and AA runs. You got the Geoff Johns run, you got the GL Corps runs, you got the Judd Winnick Kyle run, you got Hard Traveling Heroes back in the day (definite AAA there).

Legion of Super Heroes has some amazing stories.

Oh yea, they really do, *plus* an incredibly long history, so they might be up there in 'most'.
