According to Christian mythology, Jesus is the son of God and the human embodiment (aka Avatar) of God. They're one and the same being, just two facets. The Holy Ghost being the 3rd facet of the same entity.
God - Wrathful; jealous supreme being who flooded mankind, burned Sodom and turned Lot's wife to salt. This is a God you don't **** with. As written,"Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God", because God will definitely **** your shit up.
Jesus - Kind; loving teacher who died for man's sins and accepting this "fact" grants you a place in heaven, where unicorns frolick among golden-chocolate rainbows.
Holy Ghost - The expression of Jesus-God's love. This one seems a bit kinky if you ask me.

The son of God thing...didn't that go into the bible a bit later? Also, if Jesus said we're all God's children, maybe that implies Jesus wasn't putting himself as literaly that. Maybe. I don't know, I'm just throwing ideas out there....noone take offence please!
Also, if we look at the Jewish texts, it doesn't actually say anywhere that the mother of messiah will be a virgin - if I recall that correctly...rabbi once said that the translation of that got lost between Greek and Hebrew....
Again, I don't know, I'm just opening a debate here..

IMO, Jesus was like David Koresh, Sun Myung Moon or any other of the would be profits who claim(ed) that God speaks through them or they're in fact the embodied of God. Jesus just happened to be extremely successful, especially after death.
That or Jesus was just a dude who had a kinder and gentler view of God, he gathered many supporters and they elevated him into deity status after death.

Indeed, I believe so as well. Also, there are arguments and also writings from the time which indicate that events leading to the Jesus' death were not as grand as they appear in the Roman revised version of the Bible - meaning his described, taunting and humiliation (with the ultimate consequence of humiliating death) could be the reflection of early Christians' persecution that they experienced at the hands of the Romans - the divineness could have well been attributed to him as a sign of respect.

This reminds me - a Rabbi had explained to me some things in the Torah, not so long ago, such as Lot and Sodom (people may verify this themselves)
As far as Sodom is concerned - the reason for God's destruction is never actually properly stated - people say (interpret) that it is because of homosexuality, but it lists numerous reasons, non which are homosexual. The word of any such kind is never used - some say it was because of the violence, rather than sex.
When the men got to Lot's house asking for the ''angels'' they wanted to violate them, given, probably sexually, but still commit violence. One does not have to be homosexual to rape another man - as evident in prisons today.
Lot was spared in the destruction, but was indeed punished in the cave - he was punished because he offered his two virgin daughters to the mob of men who wanted to have their violent ways with the two 'angels'.
Lot's punishment came in the form of their daughters , thinking they're the only ones left on earth, taking upon themselves to continue the human race.
I feel so Bible knowledgeable now.
so we all agree that there was and is no hell in the old testament(jewish bible) and that emmannuel simply went into man's common grave yard to raise them all into heaven and to close sheol once and for all, right?
so even if we are willing to mistranslate and substitute hell into the bible no one is really suppose to go to hell... although a lot of the purposely mistranslated words that were replaced by the word hell was used to cover up such words as punishment and even indeterminate time or scale...
so, at worst and at its most honest translation i would hazard to guess "if" Yawhew was real he would send me to my room(void room, or room with no doors) have me study and reflect with what i had done till i understood my mistake and repented.. if that is hell then sure, i dont mind....

Personally, my view is very non-Abrahamic. If there is Hell, I believe we're all in it and we will continue this cycle of being born here, uncertain of why we are here, having to go through birth, death, life, pain, experience loss and uncertainty...etc. Maybe until we break that cycle or maybe never.
Obviously I am open to ideas and such as I simply do not know...
I don't think ''laws'' of the Bibles are absolute or true. For me, none of the three Abrahamic religions offer complete satisfactory explanation - and I don't think they're able or meant to.
I think it's good we're discussing ideas about this as opposed to simply slating religions.
I don't think that the same God who gave us brain and reason wanted us to forgo their use.

Besides, Jesus was a Jew, and followed traditions of Judaism, and I doubt he wanted to make up a religion, so Christians are technically Messianic Jews.
Hah.(no offence meant to Christians)

I've heard other theories/interpretations using much older scriptures from the Torah that Sodom's sin was greed, where they had plenty and refused to share with their famine ridden neighboring cities. This is why God destroyed them.

To be honest, I can't verify anything. I remember he said violence may have been one of the reasons, but I'm sure he said that it was never clearly stated. I cannot read Hibrew (or speak), so I accept what I'm told.
Isn't that ironic? I'm sure it's how majority of religious folk work.
The question still remains when did the homosexual thing come in?
EDIT: Also, there was something else about masturbation - Onan was punished for not obeying not for spilling his seed (I think) as he never masturbated to begin with - he refused to impregnate his sister in law.
But from all that homosexuality and masturbation came as sins...????
Anyway, Sumerians said we were genetically engineered by aliens, so...I'll go with that for now.

Homosexuality is bad in Judaism because it's prohibited by the law listings... as for how homosexuality is the thing people think Sodom was punished for, that's just people's guesswork and isn't stated at all.
And Christianity? Didn't Paul say something about it or something?
