I've been trying to get back into the X-Men lately. Would anyone recommend Second Coming?

A thread already exists on X-men second coming, but if you're asking for a jumping on point, I'd recommend picking up.....

Joss Whedon's run on Astonishing X-men- 25 issues (all collected in trades or a complete omnibus edition)
I'd also recommend starting off somewhere like Messiah Complex or picking up the trade that served as a prologue to Messiah Complex, entitled "Blinded by the Light."

Basically the events of Messiah Complex have set up the state of the X-universe up to present day. If you like old X-men events like X-cutioners song, Age of Apocalypse, Days of Future's Past or The Morlock Massacre, you'll like Messiah Complex.
