The Walking Dead

I don't like the pacing in this show. They drag things on for far too long. It's like they're afraid they'll run out of ideas or something so they keep an arc going for as long as possible before moving on to the next.

With the way this is going Hershel's farm is actually going to take up the entire second season, with the amount of interesting story content that the farm will produce it should be roughly half that, 7 episodes at the farm would have been great, 13 will be too much.

Yeah, they've milked this part of the story for WAY too long now. The comic covered the entire Hershel's Farm saga in three standard issues. Three. The show is already on the fourth episode that deals with Hershel's Farm, and it's not even close to being wrapped up.

...And the funny part is: there's really no reason to drag this event on for as long as they have. I mean, aside from Maggie/Glen, no real character development is happening. Furthermore, the second season is nearly concluded and they're only up to issue #10 of the comic series--it's not like they'll be running out of material in the foreseeable future. /shrug

OMFG! Michael Rooker in this show is friggin AWESOME! I'm so glad he was brought back. Merle and Daryl together was purely epic.

The show never ceases to be great. It's like every episode just KO out of your seat. I have no issues at this point. Every character gets enough scenes and to be honest....the Hershel Farm looks very comfortable and relax...the barn full of walkers just gives it a nice twist.

I want more! Please keep Merle coming...

Yep, Merle (kinda) coming back is a very good thing. Hope they keep him around.

I think I would have liked it more if I didn't read the comic.

If you have read the comic it feels like the shows drags on forever.

Yeah, the comic has a better pace to it, I agree.

That's kind of my problem with television in general. But the first season wasn't like that. And neither was the first episode of the 2nd season. That episode effing rocked.

Is it some sort of international zombie sex-slave trade? I bet it's that.

Haha, interesting theory. Never read the comics, but my theory is that it's their relatives turned zombies.

I totally agree. The last episode revived my interest in the show. It had kind of a weird psychological Deliverance thing going on with Merle's return.. haha (After the zombie-in-the-well episode, which was garbage.) But yeah, I'd like to see them move on from this little farm. Grandpa should have a fit and kick them out..

Do like how killing zombies is an aphrodisiac.

This show is good but there too many slow points and this kills my interest.

Zombies are cheap production value. There shouldnt be that many slow downs.

Shane: "Come on then."

Classic.

I'm a bit annoyed about the housing development bit. i was hoping that would have lasted longer.

This season kind of reminds me of when BSG was forced by the Sci-fi network to make the jump form the 13 episode first one to 20 episode seasons. In the end we were left with some filler episodes and stretched out plots. I honestly didn't think it would be a problem for Walking Dead moving form 6 episode to 12, but man... there has been a lot of filler episodes so far and they are really streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetching things out. The payoff for the Sophia subplot better be huge.

Well... They found Sophia, at least. kinda

On another note: Though poorly executed, I agree with Shane's 'moral code' for the most part. Like he said, Rick's 'conscious' has cost that group a LOT of needless pain and suffering. Unless something changes, he isn't fit to lead them.

...Daryl is the best leader they've got. By far.

It would have been better if Rick ran up and bit her head off.

That would have been gar.

I haven't seen the latest episode yet, but have you noticed how Daryl turned really NICE since the first season? He was a total @sshole. I'm thinking that we deserve some sort of flashback explanation for his rather drastic change.

No, Rick is.

He just showed that.

His epic-@sshole of a brother not being around has helped remedy his shittitude behavior.

I don't buy how the old man knew Shane killed the fat guy. Only someone like Batman or Sherlock could've figured that out with certainty.

He didn't know with certainty, he just had a suspicion and stated as fact.

When Shane didn't deny it he had his answer.

Also, he was in the Shawshank Redemption with Morgan Freeman, who is best friends with Batman, so he probably learned a thing or two.

Good point. But would that account for it totally? I don't know..
