Spoiler:
Carl
is going to go out the same way that Andrea did in the comic book recently this year. I was so pissed off that Kirkman killed Andrea; she was the best character in the book.

Kinda silly they kill him when he's just starting to not be an annoying little shit, imo

Did he dieded?

Carl is a legitimate bad ass in the comic book now and has a girlfriend who humps his brains out.

Not like TV Andrea was anything to write home about. Agree though still. They could've made her better with the writing in later seasons... What a waste.

Chandler Riggs who plays Carl wanted to fully attend college and stuff, so they had his character written off. Can't be on a show forever when some life related things take priority. I can't fault him for that personally. He at least had a decent sendoff, imo.

Actually Chandler didn't want to be written off. He recently bought a house in Atlanta because he could attend both school and filiming. Apparently his death was entirely the decision of the writers. I think it sucks that Daryl gets to outlive Carl.

Ah. That kinda sucks then... Yeah, it does. Daryl has become too stagnant.

It's a human bite.

He's fine.

Daryl is the worst character on the show.

so, when did he get bitten?

This b!tch Gimple got on tv last night and told us that there's a scene telegraphing the incident, but didn't give an exact episode... like, really, b!tch?!

The more I think about it, the more I think that Carl's death may be VERY bad writing, and possibly the show's definitive shark jumping moment, even worse than Dumpstergate. Carl is arguably the audience surrogate, as we have watched him grow up in this world like a hatching from an egg, and he is the bridge between the old civilization and new. Furthermore, his relationship with Rick is what makes both of them great protagonists. Plenty of other characters have dead kids and families. Carol, Morgan, Abraham, etc. It was the fact that Rick still had a son and still had to raise that son that gave Rick both his moral compass and overall will to survive. I don't think Gracie or even Judith (who is not Ricks kid) can replace that, not convincingly at least.

So now Rick will be in the same boat of post-family brooding as Morgan and Carol, so his character will be less interesting and unique, and apparently this is all to give Rick a reason to spare Negan, which makes this death a terrible plot contrivance to allow another plot contrivance. The thing is, there are plenty of other characters who could have made this sacrifice. Morgan, Gabriel, and ESPECIALLY Daryl, whom, as I stated earlier, has absolutely no business outliving Carl.

And for Carl to get killed by a couple of walkers also depleted the sense that characters are adapting in this world, since the logistics of the walkers allows them to be either defenseless or deadly depending on plot convenience. This extends to Negan and The Saviors as well. Their ability to launch such a wide and destructive counter attack on all 3 settlements after Rick spent a half season attacking all of their other outposts makes the entire past season feel like a complete waste of bullets and time. And that doesn't include Eugene's magic ability to spawn bullets from his ass, which he must have done to give the Saviors ammo since they would have had to use all their original ammo to escape the Sanctuary.

All in all, I feel like the show may have finally crossed the Rubicon of quality that I don't care anymore. Without Carl, it's just a bunch of depressed people running around aimlessly. It feels like there has been a massive loss in stakes and story potential.

Lol this show's so bad.

It's the episode where he meets the father and son in the woods and they are descended on by walkers. In retrospect it's clear where he gets bit but since there was no follow up you dismiss it.

You can see Carl grimace and shake when he gets bit before they finish off the walkers and her gets rescued.

SILENCE!!!

They killed Coral?

Not CORAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Part of me wants to say that this is all one big ruse to generate sympathy from the audience so the show can go “Fooled you!!”.

If Carl dies then this show is officially shark jumped and f*cked.

He's officially dead, and the show is officially screwed. Rick is now no different than Carol, Morgan, Mad Max, and every other dime-a-dozen post apocalyptic hero with a dead family. I don't care about whatever future he intends to build if Carl is not in it.

Are we absolutely certain Carl's being written off and it's not some ploy? Really makes no sense, he's finally becoming interesting after years of being an annoying little shit.

Was wondering if Carl is saved somehow. Remember that helicopter we saw earlier. That didn't pan out to anything, right? What if they (the people who own the copter) have the cure to stave off the zombie-hiv, which gives you a fever; then you die.

edit: Remember that future flash-forward scene of older Rick in the house? Was Carl in that?

Nope. In the preview for next season, we see Rick continuing the Negan war, and he looks like he is in traumatized mode. So Carl is definitely a goner. Any introduction of a cure would immediately and irreparably change the status quo of the entire show.

Dunno man, the "ha, fooled you" is something the writers would do, look at Glen. And TBF, Rick's had that look on-and-off for some time now.

The cure to not dying from a bite, not a cure for the zombie reanimation virus, which every living human carriers. They seem to be two different things.
