Jill and Chris vs. Leon and Ada

Leon is better than Chris at hand to hand. In RE5 gameplay it appears as though Chris and/or Sheva can defeat Wesker at hand to hand, however, most of that is due to gameplay.

Do you serious expect the creators of RE5 to make Wesker move at super fast speeds so you can't even respond to it? NO, so they HAD to slow down Wesker's speed for the shake of gameplay.

Also what happens in gameplay is "possible" not guaranteed, meaning playing differently results in different gameplay scenarios. Its not as canon as the main storyline of the game. What happens in gameplay terms can only be taken with a grain of salt, best way to interpret Chris defeating Wesker in hand to hand is if Chris had to he can DEFEND against Wesker's attacks to prevent Wesker from killing Chris, but cannot defeat Wesker in hand to hand.

Leon being hit by the G-Mutant and being unharmed shows Chris' punches are probably going to tickle. At best.

Hand to hand simply means combat skills using only your hands.
I probably should use the word "melee combat" instead of hand to hand since that is more clearer and includes kicks, and use of bladed and blunt weapons such as knifes, etc.
However, the problem with using the word "melee combat" is that you start lumping factors such as strength, precision, endurance, speed, skill into melee combat while in this context melee combat is trying to answer the question: If Chris and Leon fought only with their limbs and knives who would win?.

Strength and Endurance are factors that contribute to how well a person performs in melee combat. However, being stronger and tougher does not ensure one to be superior in melee combat because melee combat is about how efficient one is able to utilize such advantages in "hand to hand scenarios" or should I say limb to limb combat with occasional use of knives in the mix against an opponent.

Leon has his spidey skills, Chris has Hulk skills and Hulk > Spidey in the comics. And a knive doesn't help if Chris can basically tank it or can hold his own until he finds a opening to Leon and he gets him down with a Haymaker.
