Memphis Beat

I don’t know about you, but when I think about summer I immediately conjure up two images: barbecues and rock and roll. Enter Memphis, TN; The birthplace of rock and roll, the undisputed holy land of American barbecue, and now the setting for TNT’s newest cop drama Memphis Beat starring Jason Lee of My Name is Earl.

I work for the marketing company that is handling this campaign for TNT and as a fan of cop shows this really has me interested.

The show debuts June 22nd and airs Tuesdays at 10/9 central. It centers on Dwight Hendricks (Jason Lee), a quirky Memphis police detective with an intimate connection to the city and a passion for blues music.

What do you guys think of this upcoming show?

I haven't caught this show yet myself, though I have to say it looks interesting. Jason Lee has been one of my favorite actors since his View Askew work.

I'm a huge Jason Lee fan. He's been my favorite actor since Mallrats and Chasing Amy. Those who remember when My Name is Earl was announced probably remember me verbally sucking him off before the show even aired.

that said, Memphis Beat sucked. I hope the series is better than the pilot.

I've seen the first two so far, I think it's pretty good it kinda reminds me of that Dennis Quaid film, The Big Easy.
