That's a bit much, yeah. Looking back, I don't really consider it all that bad as it was obvious the Loebforce was in full swing.

I remember when DC writers got death threats for killing off Jason Todd. 😆

Yeah a load of sad Thor fans sent Loeb death threats about Rulk stomping Thor, and the also insulted him online with such things as ”I'm gonna piss on your dead sons grave for this". The guy who wrote let the battle begin in which Hulk smashed Thors head in with his own hammer got the same treatment

It happens to everything that Grant Morrison writes eventually, anything in-continuity anyway. He writes a character a certain way in a brave attempt to revitalize them (or in some cases in a misguided attempt to derail them to his liking) and as soon as the next writer takes the helm his work is retconned or just plain ignored.

Is anything that Grant wrote in his X-Men run still canon?

Thanos appears in barely any comics. You'd think writers would pay attention to what's been established.

And Starlin's not trying to retcon bad showings, he's trying to retcon showings that contradict him not being evil.
