I would actually contend that statement, since a lot of those people's abilities utilize the very thing Aang, as the Avatar, represents. In the Avatar State, I think there could be a decent match there.I'll repropose Tetsuo Shima from Akira versus Charles Xavier. Tetsuo's a much more psychokinetic kind of individual, though he has demonstrated some rather impressive psychic defenses, and I think Charle's would have an interesting time attempting to bypass and neutralize the boy.
I'll be making a second post with my nods to previous thread suggestions thus far.
I nod the following thread suggestions.

Iron Spidey v.s. Kain the vampire.
Starts ontop of a NYC skyscraper, but they can fight anywhere within NYC, no BFRs.

I'll renominate Deathstroke vs Master Chief.
IMO that was the best choice from last time.

Darkseid vs. Dark Schneider
Dark Schneider is from the manga Bastard!!. He is a powerful sorcerer who stole the power of the Demon Kings to become a Skyfather-level entity. He has fought angels, devils, and shattered the dimension of Hell. He has many incredibly broken powers that could put him up with the highest showings of Darkseid.

Static vs. Aang
both elementals, while aang may have more overall power, lightning based attacks have been shown to be extremely powerful in the Avatar world, and static's versatility with his ability would make him a great opponent for aang.
Samus vs. Ghost Rider
Both extremely versatile, ghost rider might have to be weakened a bit for the match but not terribly.

How about Danny Phantom vs Spider-Man?
Danny uses ghost powers. He can fire off blasts of ectoplasm, form screens of it to block attacks, become invisible, intangible, or both, make duplicates of himself, fly and has a level of super strength I'm not sure I can specify. He also has Ice Powers, can apparently overshadow people, possess their dreams, and I think he also has teleported once, but he hasn't mastered that one, same with the duplication. His biggest gun is his Ghostly Wail which takes a lot out of him, and I think actually reverts him back to human form. But it was shown as a city buster when used by a future self.
So Danny has a lot of powers, but Spidey is Spidey, and I think Danny will have some trouble hitting him. I also think Spidey is a lot stronger. I'd just put this in a city somewhere so that they can take advantage of maneuverability.

Spider-Sense might help Spidey against sneak attacks and Spider-Man is as strong or stronger than Danny but Danny can fly and blast from a distance and become intangible. Even if Spidey manages to catch Danny with webbing or physically grab him Danny can just phase out of his grasp.
It would basically just come down to how long Spider-Man can dodge/evade Danny's attacks because without ghost-tech there doesn't seem to be a way to put Danny down once he goes ghost.
Despite my opposition against it. If you insist on making single cross genre matches that will be kept open for a week then use characters that are well known and popular. What's the point in making a match with a character only a handful of people know just so they can post outlining feats and advertising a work of fiction?
Dragon Ball is a old manga that is quite popular in Europe and the U.S. newer popular manga could be found going by the onemanga.com ranking top three being Naruto, One Piece and Bleach. Though I've also come across a few Full Metal Alchemist threads in the anime and manga section. Perhaps you should examine which threads there that get responses.
There is also a wide arrange of game and movie characters. Which I'm sure you could find in the gaming and moviesection.
Edit. I love the Legacy of Kain series and would give my nod to Iron Spider-Man vs Kain in NY.

I never would have guessed Dragon Ball is popular. I'm sure no one here has even heard of it.
Yusuke Urameshi, from Yu Yu Hakusho (end of series)
vs.
Wonder Woman, Barda & Power Girl
if you haven't read or watched Yu Yu, please don't say this is a rapestomp in favor of the comic girls. To be fair, i thought about adding a fourth, but given the regard WW is held in, i thought this was fair enough.
