What are some good discussion questions for the movie Milk?

I am showing the film "Milk" in my history/english class. It depicts the story of gay activist Harvey Milk through his struggle to become the first openly gay male politician to hold public office.

Was he the pitcher or the catcher?

I worry when a 'teacher' needs to come onto a message board to ask people about good discussion questions...

Unless you meant you are a student and presenting something in class.

Ask how a major gay community settled in San Francisco to begin with.

And what made Harvey Milk decide late in life to enter politics.
