I've been out of the loop, but what is New Son Gambit? What did they do to mess that character up?

Gambit New Son was an alternate universe Gambit whose powers were at full potential. On his earth he somehow burned up every living been by accidentaly releasing his powers or something like that. I think he may have a bio on Wikipedia under Gambit New Son.

New Son killed every person on Earth, superhumans included.

He killed Phoenix and Apocalypse...and I think even Galactus.

He traveled through time and space while trying to restart his own universe or something.

Essentially, he whoops Sentry's ass so bad he quits.
