I often forget about the prescense and regard the source as the ultimate power/god in DC. It's pretty much portrayed that way though. Not much mention of the prescence

Yes. It was the one who ended Great Evil Beast's rampage (portrayed as a golden hand).
It was also shown in a Batman Beyond's episode (can't remember the specific episode title).

The hand was the Presence's hand, it wasn't a being all it's own.

The Source is depending on the interpretation a completely separate being from the Presence, the Word is the predecessor to the Spectre, and the Voice is just an older name for the Presence which at times gets conflated with the Lords of Order.

The Hand is just that, the Presence's hand, it has no will of its own, it is a representation of the Presence's might made manifest.
