Anyone read History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi?

Started by danteiscool41 pages

dadudemon: wow. let me know when you do go through with it.

yeah, Saiga sure did mess them over pretty bad. Wakkawakkawakka: can't fathom why. maybe it's a special missile or maybe it's aimed at a specific location that will instigate a lot of martial arts fighting.

Nemebro: he pretty much was. the first 2-3 pages of this chapter was really just Saiga double-tapping in spite of Shiba's movement.

Well, holy shit.

So this whole time, Senzui was the one seemingly running the show and killed Shizuha whereas the real Saiga was in the background, waiting for the time to strike and get revenge for his wife. And now two legendary level masters are duking it out.

Once again, holy shit.

Okay, I see, now. Thanks for explaining that, dante.

I couldn't keep track of who was who! lol

But Saiga was disguised as Okumoto and the Senzu Bean guy was disguised as Saiga?

So this whole time, Saiga has been in hiding, waiting for his time to strike to get revenge and Senzu Bean was pretending to be Saiga?

I think Hayato knew this whole time....there was a scene many many chapters ago where he gave a look when he was being asked about this. I am not reading the whole damn thing just to find that one panel but it would appear that this was foreshadowed many moons ago.

Not sure if the other masters know about their leader being someone else?

With the Super grandpa coming soon and tensions between the weapon group and fist groups. I can picture the weapon side teaming up with Senzui and fist will go with Saiga.

This is the first time we are seeing him. We are going to get some backstory in a bit.

Thanks.

Truth be told, I cannot recall Senzui at all. :>

I wonder if the other fist masters know about their leader's identity, because everything so convenient for the dark fist and weapon master team to split up now. LOL

Shipping Senzui with Kaguya. No two characters can hijack a plot so blatantly.

So Senzui is the mastermind? Then what has Saiga been doing this whole time? I mean the chapter tells us he's been waiting for a chance to strike but that seems too unproductive for a guy like him.

Also when is Kenichi going to stop sucking? I gave him the benefit of the doubt since Kajima seemed pretty uber for a disciple but c'mon!

Then we have Shigure doing **** all.

dadudemon: you're welcome. and it would seem so.

wakkawakkawakka: the way I see it right now, Senzui, essentially being a legendary class ninja, is a very slippery devil, so Saiga had to wait until there was a time where he knew for sure the guy would be somewhere to show up and attack. and if he made any obvious moves beforehand, he'd be found out and the guy would take off. this doesn't sound like much, I know, but considering how damn good these two are at disguising themselves, it would make sense that Saiga would take things very slowly.

well, like you said, Kajima is pretty uber for a disciple. hell, he even dodged an attack from that Michael guy. granted the guy isn't exactly an impressive grand master fighter and he was most likely messing around, but still a half assed attack from a grand master fighter isn't to be taken lightly. so evidently, Kajima is definitely above disciple class martial artists by a good margin, and that includes Kenichi. as it is anyway, he's putting up a better fight against Kajima than I had ever imagined originally.

well, it's not like she can do much in this situation. Senzui is out of her league and technology isn't her strong point either.

AuraAngel: that is an excellent point. mind if I back you up on that SenzuixKaguya ship?

You know, guys? it just occurred to me late last night how subtle the foreshadowing was to Saiga not being the Ichiei.

think about it this way: first Senzui, as "Saiga." When he first actually appeared, he was speaking to the other OSNFs about the incident with Jenezard. Not once did he even remotely bring up what Jenezard was trying to do with Miu or anything of the sort. It might look as if he was just covering that up, but in reality, he didn't care about her. In each subsequent appearance, "Saiga" was completely focused on one thing: the Eternal Setting Sun. He never deviated from it at all. In every appearance after that, he simply wanted it to progress as smoothly as possible. Not even the meeting with Ryozanpaku fazed him. Now why would that be? After all, if this had been the real Saiga, then he would've had more of a reaction to Ryozanpaku than beyond mere recognition/boredom.

Speaking of which; when Ryozanpaku first unveiled their combination attacks on that heliport, "Saiga" spoke the name of the technique as if possibly hearing it for the first time and looking down on it, it'd seem. If this was the real Saiga, that would be incredibly odd. After all, having once been of Katsujinken belief and having learned a hell of a lot under his father, he undoubtedly would've known about such a 'technique' and also know of its power. So why would he treat it like such a surprise?

And of course, there was 'his' most recent 'appearances.' Kenichi and Miu infiltrate his base and he couldn't care less. He even roughed up Miu, saying he won't let personal feelings get in the way, in spite of supposedly having helped her out of great worry back in Tidat. And of course, he also tried to kill Nijima when, if you think on it, he didn't actually have to (he could've simply KOed the kid and put him somewhere without any clothes on so that he couldn't smuggle any equipment on him or something). Once again, this action contradicts him not killing those berserk master class warriors in Tidat, even when they had been trying to kill Kenichi and an unconscious/defenseless Miu.

And on that note, onto something intriguing about the real Saiga. When he showed up in Tidat, he, as stated in my previous post, didn't kill those berserk master class guys when Senzui, disguised as him probably would've done so without hesitation. He quickly yet gently attempted to just cover up Miu to preserve her always failing modesty and to keep her safe from the flames. "Saiga" didn't do anything near that level of gentleness in his appearances thereafter.

And also on another related note: in that same chapter, Saiga broke that Menang guy's arm. Now, thinking back on it, Menang had told him that even if he was the Ichiei, he couldn't simply interfere with Jenezard and leave without consequence. He even appeared to be taking up a defensive/fighting stance. Then Saiga broke his arm. Now at a first glance, one would think he did so because he was just reacting to Menang's intent to try and do him harm... or maybe he just didn't like an underling of sorts try and talk him down.

But think on it. Menang addressed him as 'sir Ichiei.' Saiga isn't the Ichiei though, Senzui is. Not only that, but as the Ichiei, Senzui impersonated him and killed Shizuha and created Yami, all of the members going around killing God knows how many people. So when Menang called him 'sir Ichiei,' the poor smuck was unknowingly and very indirectly insulting Saiga by making it seem to us readers (and to Saiga himself) as if he really was the one who killed Shizuha and created Yami, being responsible for all of the organization's less-than-legal actions. In other words: Saiga didn't break Menang's arm out of self-defense or anything; he did it out of ANGER.

^ That's a really good catch in hindsight. If it weren't for this reveal and you bringing that up, I would've just pegged Saiga for being bipolar.

So now that its all but been confirmed that Saiga is a good guys, wonder if we're finally going to gets some details about why exactly Saiga went into hiding: to clarify what sequence of events led to Senzui killing his wife.

Also this chapter confirmed that Miu's boobs are indeed genetic and not solely a product of the author's pervy mind.

Thank you. I originally thought so too until I thought on it.

Most likely. It'd be kind of mean of the author if he didn't reveal what happened to Shizuha during this fight.

Oh yeah, definitely. Shizuha's genes are incredibly powerful, it'd seem. And we're told it's the Furinji bloodline that's strong...

Huh, so Saiga and Senzui really did train Kajima in the past. Which meant that Senzui was at least partially successful in bringing him into the darkness... so either Saiga really was the Ichiei for a time before leaving and Senzui took over or something else happened...

So either Saiga screwed up somewhere or he really is bipolar.

Also here's Kenichi not sucking...that's all I wanted.

I think Saiga was unaware that Senzui had killed Shizuha at the time the flashback took place. He knew someone had killed her and he fell to the ways of the Satsujinken until he later learned Senzui was the one that killed her and while disguised as him too at that. That's the only thing that would make sense.

Well to be fair, Kajima is pretty damn tough, tougher than Sho Kano ever was given how badly he was trouncing Kenichi and even taking down Dou-ki empowered Miu with a Dou-ki empowered attack of his own. And his current technique is stupidly overpowered too.

I guess Saiga screwed up then.

Even though Kajima is leagues above Kano, the reason why I complained for solong was because we all knew Kenichi could do better. It really got annoying when he went into "protect Miu" mode and appeared to suck even more

Liking the unaware theory. It makes sense that he was unaware of the betrayal/murder at the point, which would lead him down the path of Yami. Also explains how he was the other half of Kajima's teachers for a while.

A reveal must have happened recently where Saiga discovered the truth and left, leaving Yami without a leader, que Senzui's disguise to keep up appearances for his underlings.

And finally, Kenichi is getting his act together. He should be able to strike instantly from the training for Pollux, and should be fine tuned with his skills from that and the Sho match, and all in between. The long time underdog should not be discouraged about being the underdog.

Ahh, yes. Now that you put it that way, I'm on board with that theory, too. "Unaware Theory." That explains several plotholes.

Indeed it does. Still, the flashback so far had done very little to determine just when exactly that flashback took place. I say this because in the brief flashback, Kajima almost looked exactly the same age as now. So Saiga must've found out about Senzui killing Shizuha within the past year or so in-story.

Wow. In the span of roughly half a chapter, the author further establishes Saiga's and Senzui's strength even though they were younger and presumably weaker than the present one's. He also shows more of Shizuha's personality and strength too in addition to quickly showing us how the clan started their civil war.

Wow.
