Well, Voldy vs Sids would end up with one possesing the other.

I vote Voldy in a souls battle. Sids hasn't had to survive as nothing but himself, Voldy did it without being completely intact.

Empire vs IRS with the Hulk as one of it's agents.

Some characters in the Potterverse have been seen to properly execute spells without talking and without even focusing on the target (most noteable Quirrel in the first book, catching Harry with an Incarcerous spell without even looking at him).

And there is no way to beat a magic user in a duel without using magic yourself.

Actually J.K.Rowling has said that a muggle with a shotgun will beat a wizard more often than not.

I'm pretty sure that Force users who have shown to be a blur, faster than the eye can see, block 19 strikes per second can be faster than someone who even has to try to think of a spell to cast.

Referring to normal Wizards in our world, not Voldemort or other virtual badass characters, as far as I recall. Probably because they wouldn't understand the concept of a gun before getting shot with it...

Voldemort can fly and teleport himself, which kind of negates the supposed speed advantage. And does the force grand Jedi or Sith force speed thoughts? Otherwise the process of thinking about an attack might take equally long among Force Users and Wizards, with the Wizards having quite more up their sleeves than "direct energy attacks" or lightsabers.

I think it's best to ignore the "Can the Force resist Magic, and vice versa?" question.

I'm still voting Neo-Sidious, but I have very little faith this is ever going to happen...

And maybe also Neo vs Sids, but the setting here is crucial. In the Matrix Neo is a demi-god, in SW Universe Sids is.

I vote Superman vs. Goku.

not if we assumed they both had powers. And grievous vs. superman? Wouldn't superman just kinda walk up and kill him?

If both have powers then I'd say Sids takes it. I have a soft spot for his evilness.

Grevious vs Superman would be so sad to watch, ending with GG being shaped into a tin can.

Can't a Force-user just, you know, grab Neo with the Force? He's not literally omnipotent within the Matrix. If he was, the second and third movies would have finished in 5 minutes.

No, Neo can fly, and with greater force than a jedi could hold for long. Plus they have no way to kill him. *****'ll just come back spicknspan. Not to mention no jedi or sith can deal the kind of damage Neo was shrugging off in his final battle.

hmmm.... good point with the Neo shrugging off damage. He stopped an axe with his bare hand, only taking a scratch. Could a lightsaber do more damage? (this is why this would be a GREAT THREAD REX!)
