The wording suggest that she called forth the power of the ENTIRE core. Yet the stars aren't snuffed out and she only produced enough energy to shine as a single star. She's not calling upon the power of the stars in the core but the core itself.
You know how she has a spiritual bond with the Earth. She had a spiritual bond with the Core.
