And aw, a tear?

Nah, I had to run in to work for a few hours after lunch. New guy working, computers went down, good ole RJ to the rescue.

The maintenence guy was was there and he laughed about it, told me, and I quote, "good one." I still bought him a 12 pack of Heineken to atone for it. It's all water under the bridge.

He sorta deserved it, from what I hear he's a ****in rat.

I am that valuable because I the night auditor. Look up "auditor." Also because I do about half of the managerial duties including payroll, scheduling, Accounts receivable, Accounts payable, human resources, sales, etc;...But yeah, as you said, I am just an overnight shift worker 🙄

Also because I am the verge of going into management training later this year.

Night auditor really isn't anything special, dude.

Managerial duties aren't that difficult either.

Who said anything about difficult? I chose my occupation because it is an easy gig.

A run of the mill hotel clerk job is a cakewalk. Kinda like selling video games 😉

Night auditor is easy, if you know what you are doing.

A GM position is hard if you have a shit staff. If you have a good staff and stay on top of things, then it's not that hard.

Where I am now, it's not really difficult, just a bit overwhelming at times. In addition to my duties as an auditor, I am left in charge on the weekends and when my GM takes off, because we have no AGM at our location.

i imagine its like running a barracks and being in charge of housing,.

em i close?

How the **** would I know?

well if we go by my experience of housing/barracks Nco.. i am sure it is easy.. in my mind it was like being a hotel receptionist guy to the doorman to maintenance to the guy who checks their hours and whanot..

Pretty sure dealing with "customers" is a different story.

i was always polite to my marines and civilians that wondered in or workers... at least u could say i was professional.

not the old chestnut D.I. attitude.. that sh#@ would have gotten me and most marines demoted for yelling at the wrong person at the wrong time that way.

They have to pay?

no.. its taken out of their paychecks automatically by uncle sam as part of the housing,... its BS...

usually a marine arrives at my door straight from bootcamp and MOS school...

i take their name and check my computer for an available room or someone with no room mate with similar rank and time also i make sure whoever it is belongs to the same work area.. so its basically a co-worker...

once that is in i puch it in the system and issue him a room key. i have to program it myself on the machine and we give it 300 uses.. so he has to come back and get it recharge..

once that is done i give him sheets and a pillow..and walk him to his room with a check list of all the items in he has to check it and hand it back to me.. if they get broken when he checks out he has to pay for it or be punished...

i did weekly spot checks of the rooms every friday... as well as daily walk throughs make sure the barracks isnt falling apart... grass is cut i would have my working party fix the outside areas..

if maintenance was required in the room the marines would let me know in the morning with a work order i or one of my marines would punch it in to the system and i would stand over the until they called it in to the maintenance guys.. no marine was allowed to be without power or damage to lights for more then a few hours a day tops..

also plumbing my marines would fix minor repairs that could be fixed if they couldnt i was in charged of ordering it and logging it into the system as well as pay for service rendered by civilians and whatnot.

plus every once in a while some bull dog snco would come marching in yelling at me why the washing machines were broken and his marine was without power.. i be all well he hasnt informed or filled out a worksheet to make me aware and its 7:30 in the morning and i havent done the walk through for teh laundry room i just arrived in my office 15 minutes ago..

then he scream about me being a sh#@ty nco and i cant run my own barracks.. then i get annoyed as he threatens to report me and have my rank.. i then call my barracks security as i stare at him while he yells at me.. and ask him politely to leave b4 i file a complaint and this escalates.

When someone pays for a hotel room, it's different, so no, it's nowhere near the same.

i dealt with money i was in charge of battalion funds along with supply company..

i would have to buy stuff all the time and balance it out with other sections

example:

barracks repair and items, Office Supplies, Hazmat items barrels of oil and chemicals....... last one was safety: work boots ,gloves, safetly glasses even buying large full scale equipment for the safety of my marines...

i had various billets due to the rotation overseas.. my battalion was running off of NCO and junior marines.. we didnt have enough officers to go around not like it would have mattered.

anyways my billets were: hazmat nco, safety nco, anonymous(counselor) Nco, barracks Nco and if those werent bad enough also the section(entire) office nco..

i had a full plate

K, so you meaning of the word "responsibility" then.

yeh, "responsibility" more like an escape goat when the general didnt want to go to jail... i once had an office meeting with regiment about disproportionate/misuse of funds and being threaten with briq time..

@$$hole general wanted all his marines to have brand new work boots and ordered me even though i explained it and said no.. he still gave me a direct order.. wasting all my funds that were suppose to last me for 3 months about 80k.. not even a half hour after using the credit card did i get a phone call and was taken to see the man.. asking me if i decided to do this on my own... and when i tried to get the general on the line he responded with you'll be fine its the military they'll always give us money.. and he hung up.. had to face legal admin marines on my own.. BS!!!

a brown guy accused of stealing an pocketing money by military hard@$$es is not fun..

had all my office files reviewed for over 2 yrs

i gotta go.

GTFO then.

The maintenence guy at my hotel is a Vietnam vet and has shell shock. I rarely see him (I work nights), but I was told about him having shell shock long ago.

Well. he comes to work early today, 5 am. We started talking, and as he turned to walk away, I wadded up a piece of scrap paper, threw it at him, and said: "Ray, grenade!!! fire in the hole!!!"

He turned and just looked at me for like a whole minute, then walked away without saying a word. 😮

Pay some 12-year-old Asian kid 10 bucks to jump out and surprise him in black pajamas and a toy AK-47.

If we were in the same town, I would literally pay to see that.

Classic.

So, we all agree that your and RJ's job are easy and that a half domesticated chimpanzee could do it...?

Not surprised.

Aahahahaaha!!!

Most jobs are easy if you stay on top of things.

haermm

For your follow up, RJ, you should run up to one of the maids and start yelling "La Migra! La Migra! Andale!"
