Doesnt seem that outrageous to me. Besides, his supersenses are superpowers, why shouldnt they more than make up for his eyesight? And while the myth was an inspiration, he is a superpowered mutate. Even that myth has some truth to it, as even though their senses arent really better, the way they pay atention to and rely on them let them extract a whole lot more information from them than sighted individuals.
Jakeem/Johnny Thunders 5d imp is a pretty outrageous weapon.
Especially considering they're just normal Earth based characters. Half the fun of reading about them is seeing the ridiculous, unbelievable ways the writers try restricting their ability to use that power. (I mean, even the dumbest of the dumb would make better use of the imp then they do..)
