To me that just seemed like a little consolation prize Morrison threw to WW fans who thought his treatment of Diana in the story was crappy. It didn't even seem to work since Darkseid seemingly absorbed all reality (except him, Superman, and the Miracle Machine) into him after his body had died.

There's also defeating the Queen of Fables and forcing her to retreat into a book, or the Dragon from League of One who was destined to kill the entire JLA, or stopping any of Ares' plans.
