Thats pretty damn retarded. :/

That just defeats the purpose for it.

Cliff Bleszinski Expresses a Desire to "Fix" Resident Evil

If only.

It's funny about the comments for the story.

Most were bitching about how CliffyB is an action developer and would screw up the series even more.

Hmm, not really. A developer can make multiple different type of genres. As well, some people might not like Gears but they are well developed. They feel solid and it doesn't try to piss you off every single time you try to do something.

RE6 demo did that for me. I was annoyed about how dark the game was, how convaluted the controls are and how the viewpoint was soo damn close to everything. It was damn frustrating.

I would definitely beg to differ depending on what parts/game modes of Gears you're talking about. We all tend to have our different experiences though, like how I didn't have a problem with half the things people were bitching about with the RE6 demo.

And I don't like how cocky Cliffy was coming off there, either.

I just played the demo today (yes, late to the party). I honestly didn't mind the camera angle. One thing that did annoy me was the cover system seemed a tad finicky, and when you play as Chris you need to be able to take cover, so maybe it just takes some getting used to.

Really enjoyed the Leon section, even if the game was a little dark at times. I was actually disappointed when the demo ended.

I remember right after I finished playing 5 with my cousin while I was visiting him in San Diego, I played his copy of Legends of Wrestling and made a Wesker clone.

Once you get used to knowing what things you can take cover against and what things you can't, it'll be much better for ya. The good thing about taking cover too (anywhere, or if you just have your back against the ground) is that it recharges your stamina meter significantly faster if you happen to be low on it.

Parts of Leon's campaign like in the demo section are supposed to be dark, so I find it kinda funny some people ***** about that especially when you're able to easily adjust the brightness.

Not really.

There's dark, and there is frustrating. I adjusted the brightness to it's full and I still couldn't see crap. A few zombies in the corner that's covered in darkness, and I get attacked without even knowing it, it's not fun. Ever noticed most games that dark give you a flashlight? Because it's frustrating as **** and there is no way for you to find out if there is something there without going there and getting attacked.

Out of curiosity, to those who support the idea of Cliffy "fixing" Resident Evil in his own way... How were you thinking/wishing he would do so? Make the characters able to use zombies as meat shields, or what?

FYI, Leon and Helena do get flashlights attached on the side of their heads when exploring the darkest parts of the campaign like the sewers, so don't get your panties all in a bunch.

And wow. No offense, but all I can say is you might have some sight problems or something if you still couldn't see some enemies at full brightness. It was too blinding and obvious for me even on Leon's campaign. Perhaps you prefer the constant broad daylight that Africa in RE5 provided?

If I were you, I'd go see a different eye doctor.

Hahaha, can't I have a valid criticism?

I'm just saying the controls are shit, and it's too dark and it frustrates. My eyes are fine and I prefer games where darkness isn't like RE6. Or at least give me a flashlight. (for the entire game, not once section)

Unless it changed with retail version, that's what I got. I'm not the only one who thinks this.

I'm not denying no one of criticism. Just expressing my opinion, in that the darkness of this game isn't nearly as ridiculous as it's made out to be. For me that would be games like Doom 64 or something.

Zombies merely adapt in the dark; I was born in it, molded by it!

And you get the overhead flashlight at least 3 to 5 times throughout Leon's campaign IIRC, not just once. As for controls, wasn't sure what to think about them at first, but now I actually prefer them over RE5's and the like. The one thing about it or the gameplay I will admit was shit though was the inventory. People often criticized RE5's inventory for not being as big or expansive as RE4's (or that you couldn't use it while having the game paused like RE4), but at least with RE5's you could more easily combine items or quick reload so you won't have to go through the reload animations every time, but with RE6's it can't really be done like that, so it's not as organizable to me. Also too, I didn't like how you have to put whatever herbs you pick up in your case first before you can use them via shortcut with RB/R1. Forgetting to do that when I knew I had an herb on me got me killed probably more times than anything else.

Aside from that, I find the controls/gameplay to be a solid improvement from 5, and still like how the different characters have their own unique HUDs for the most part and whatnot. Quite a bit of this is what RE5 should've had IMO instead of simply RE4's gameplay with co-op.

I only played the demo so I cannot say the I wouldn't get used to the controls but controls should be something that you get a hang of really quickly. This especially important for shooters/action games.

I meant even at things you were supposed to be able to cover behind. But again, I'm sure I'll get used to it.

No, I get that it's night-time. I do. But I've played other games that were "at night" too, and have had no problem with visibility. I was playing the Leon section in a dark room, so no glare, and in the exterior parts I was still having issues. It wasn't game breaking, but it was annoying.

And turning the brightness up makes it look kinda sucky, I found.

Eh, the game's controls are kind of shit and it was too dark in the demo.

Dunno if it's changed in the vanilla game, but you do get used to it eventually, though it's still a flaw.

Well, you can see in the night. Your eyes adjust. Or, there is enough ambient light for you to see into dark places well enough.

If it's really dark in the sewer, that make sense.

It doesn't make sense to be absolute black in a room where there is a single light.

People saying CliffyB would make the series worse don't know what they are talking about.

Of course CliffyB was cocky and annoying. He always is. He is like the guy that made DOA/NG(forgot his name sue me) in that they think they are rockstars.

Still if I was them I would be every bit as cocky as them.
