Considering he tanked a lighting charge Hammer strike from BRB at point blank range to no ill effect and was able to easily toss around Skaar with the Old Power who has manage to defeat Jugg and put a decent fight against Hulk the same guy who was treated like a Child when fighting Surfer.
Surfer's durability is nearly equally good against any type of attack.. Not saying nothing can hurt him put few magical lightning is not stooping Norrin who is at the top of his game atm.

After his total defeat against Surfer his become a disembodied sentient energy only able to take form when connected to ground soil. Later he was able to acquire a human host that allowed him to thread the Earth without having to worry about dis-corporation however it still hindered him, as the host was quite limited, this is why he is one of the weaker herald.. To put it blantly his pretty much depowered compared to when he was herald to Galactus

Not only was Terrax depowered but was also prevented from replenishing his powers, this pretty much is poorly thought out proof.. So the question still remain: What makes you think that heat disruptive Ions would do the trick specially when the chars. in question where specifically made to withstand heat hotter than the sun itself?
No he wouldn't be able to recover by himself without Aelic because his consciousness was disperse around the planet but as you could see, when pooled he retained his powers albeit to a lesser degree..
You know how ions work? You change the charge and transfrom + to - if you make all the particles - then you disrupt the feeding. Of course with Glalactus You have to use something extra because He is Galactus and I am aware the power will return to him eventually. But now yo can see that the Idea it has been used in comics.

Surfer can read energy, so recalibrating the energy effect to match the modulation of the ionic field and throw it out of phase like shown on the scan should be a breeze, heck he can transform himself to that form of energy making that ion hv effect nil.. This is of course if and that's a VERY, VERY, VERY BIG IF that ion hv attack does work to which you still haven't got nada proof.. Speculation at its finest.. 🙁 No not eventually but almost instantly if not for the fact that G power got bfr to the N zone.. Just the ION particles to cut off Surfer powers, i really don't see it, heck almost everyone don't see that idea...
You know if we go by your own logic this would really be an easy fight for Surfer.. You see he could, in an instant depower someone powered by solar energy.. So puff no powers for Supes..
