STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION- The Council of Taneshla

What price is that going to be?

She's pretty much screwed either way, but doesn't want to go down so easily...

If Rianna is afraid enough of Rand to tap in to her emotions, all dice results will be treated as being two points higher.

I'm pretty sure she's at that point by now...so okay. Even though I'm sure doing so will drive her closer to the Dark Side.

It's a refresh turn!

Rianna lashes out with her Fear. She rolls four successes with the dice shift on her Push, then rolls 8 successes on her follow-up attack. Rand takes 9 damage as you push him into the wall with surprising power and jab him with a nerve strike. He is visibly pained by the attack but is laughing.

"Goo-ood!" Rand laughs. "That's it, use your fear against me!"

He makes no attempt to fight back; you have Stunned him.

DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS, Start of Turn 8

Rand (C4): 1/33 [] [DW] (6F)

Rianna (C9): 3/48 [FB FA DU] [DW MA FT] (4F) (Fear)

Refresh MA and FT, and swap FA for FT.

"Be silent, Rand...you've ruined things enough for me..." Rianna snarls, attempting one last strike at Rand before the poison takes her out.

You are hardly conscious when you land that final blow... and that exertion is too much for you. The horrid fever that has building during your fight finally bests you and you pass out...

Oh, joy! Well, looks like Rianna's out of it, for a bit...

So what exactly is the price for her giving in to her emotions like that?

You know what they say at the Temple... Fear leads to Anger...

Rianna's fall to the Dark Side has been a long time coming, and it will only get easier for her to unleash her repressed emotions for greater power. She has only taken a few timid steps, but without guidance from the Order and on her own, such advances are dangerous no matter how small.

And she's already got plenty of anger and fear hidden away...

So this sort of thing is going to get easier for her as time goes on, then?

And when Rianna does wake up again, where is she?

That IS how the Dark Side works. Once you start down the path...

Rianna awakes in a vat of bacta, an all too familiar setting.

A far too familiar setting, sometimes...

Rianna will look around and see exactly where she is and if there's anyone else around, and also use her senses as well.

RAND!

... is in a bacta tank next to you, unconscious.

Beyond the glass in front of you, Lord Geful and Sir Calthell are standing side by side, each flanked by their respective Jedi escorts, Tanic and Gallador.

"You're awake," Geful says. "How do you feel?"

😂

Bacta tanks are like a second home now

😂 you bastard.

Rianna flinches slightly when she sees Rand, but takes some small pleasure in the fact that she didn't go down without a fight.

"Okay, I suppose, all things considered..." she replies, glaring over at the tank next to her.

*snirk* seriously.

"You took quite a beating," Geful says. "You only survived by the grace of Gallador, here. He had the antidote to the poison Rand inflicted you with."

Gallador smiles.

"When you are ready, we'll get you out. In the mean time, you need rest. The... diplomacy is on hold, for the moment. Both sides are replacing their dead advisors and such."

"How very convenient..." she mutters quietly to herself.

"How long will I have to rest in here?" she asks.

A full day.

Wooo...

Actually, Rianna's curious how Rand wound up there, as well. Because she highly doubts that she had knocked him out, with the state she was in...

Believe it or not, you did!

Rianna is mildly surprised at that, but also worried about the fact that she let her emotions get the better of her...

Anyway, Rianna will rest/nap until they decide she can come out of the bacta; she'll ask Tanic or Geful what exactly went on after Rand flung her out the window once she gets out. As well as what's going to happen next.
