Kurse severely owned BRB with only a few hits (something not even the Surfer-wrecking B&T Thor could do) -- Kurse easily dispatched Thor numerous times... Even when he was wearing the BoS -- Kurse destroyed half of Hela's realm, and was immune to her powers. Etc.
Unless Maestro is packing some iron weaponry, Kurse is going to beat that ass.

BRB cheap-shot him first and whilst Surfer was attempting to exchange pleasantries. huge difference between Surfer's intentions and Kurse's I'd imagine...much like shaking someone awake versus rattling their head till their brains pour out their nose.
