if i were a random cop and not myself with my principles.. i probably kill the dude take teh money or blk mail him for half and set him up later down the road some how...
but, if its me and i went to the academy and i am on my beat a few yrs down the road.. i would do the honest thing and call it in.
but also more then likely i wouldnt know about it since i would respect individuals constitutional rights so i never would have bn aware of the money unless i was a dirty ignorant cop who doesnt know the laws he is suppose to uphold and respect.
What format/how is the money kept? All cash in a safe...a check....electronically? If he had it all in cash, I'd take some, because if 107mil just disapears, its obvious. It won't fit in your pocket anyway.
And to silence him, you might have to dress it up so it looks like you shot him in self-defense. (But that's easy)

Because you're crooked, want a promotion, respect, your name in the paper, or are just tired of cruising the same beat and dealing with the same riff-raff everyday.
Originally posted by Quiero MotaYou'd also rapidly lose your job... You'd also get nothing in the way of publicity because drug busts happen all the time... and are quick;y forgotten.

If you don't get caught what is the point? The points you gave require getting caught (promotion, name in the papers, respect).
If the bust is made in Violation of the Fourth (Amendment), then it will be thrown out. All he has to do is devise a good story as to why he was there, which isn't rocket science.
Originally posted by Quiero MotaAnd he wouldn't have a good reason, simple as that.

and we don't have a silly constitution in this country anyway.
I'd have had a warrant before entering.
The prem would have been secured before entering.
I'd be on patrol until the lieutinent said it was okay to bust.
Take THAT Spoony. 😆
Then, I would arrest the perp and make sure ALL money found is accounted for and turned into the "evidence locker."
The end.
If you can't obey the law when it's your job to enforce it, then you shouldn't be a police officer. 😐

Incorrect.
I believe there was a study done that explored this: if it's small amounts of money, people collect it, but the higher up it goes, the "easier" it is to turn it in or ask around.
How can you have any positive self-estem if you consistantly steal and break the law? Would it not be worse if you were a police officer and knew better, more so than the average "citizen"? I think so. That type of person is not a person I'd like to be around.
