Plot Summary: On a small island off North America's coast, the dead rise to menace the living. Yet, the islanders can't bring themselves to exterminate their loved ones despite the growing danger from those they once held dear. A rebel among them hunts down all the zombies he can find only to be banished from the island for assassinating his neighbors and friends. On the mainland, bent on revenge, he encounters a small band of survivors in in search of an oasis on which to build a new life. Barely surviving an attack from a mass of ravenous flesh-eaters they commandeer a zombie-infested ferry and sail to the island. There, to their horror, they discover the locals have chained the dead inside their homes, pretending to live "normal" lives...with bloody consequences. What ensues is a desperate struggle for survival and the answer to a question never posed in Romero's Dead films: Can the living ever live in peace with the dead?

I heard this is going to be called Island of the Dead.

Lets hope its better then his last film.

I didn't bother to see Diary of the Dead cause I completely forgot that movie existed .

There is stuff on this new movie already in various other topics around 😛

Well i found my source off shocktillyoudrop.com and yea thats just how the title of the article was named.

Kinda of seems its a sequal to Dawn of the Dead Remake from another person perspective

so now they are trying to co-habitate with the dead

I'm up for it!

As long as it does'nt get as weird as someone having sex with a zombie.

Why doesnt he make something else?
I think that weve gone as far as we can with Zombies.

Infection,dead rise,mayhem,characters die,characters live,characters escape,bitersweet ending..........

As long as it does'nt get as weird as someone having sex with a zombie.

They have done that recently in a terrible film called Zombie Diaries, I think one of the human characters rapes a woman zombie he has chained up in a barn...

Diary of the Dead made me believe Romero has lost his touch. I'll only see this if somebody else spends their money.

Has potential. You know damn well if zombies existed someone would screw one. Probably would make a zombie porn industry and all that.

And that person would be me.

Trailer you sick people 😛

I dunno. I think after this Romero should take a break from making zombie movies. He's doing them too frequently and it seems each one gets worse.

Back in his heyday he was doing one every decade, now he's doing one every year.

I agree

after all he did some of them creepshow movies not zombie related.

Diary was good movie. There was absoliutely nothing wrong with it given the format. Peoplee just have too high expecations. After you had sex for awhile. It loses that omg sex is amazing feeling.

A good Zombie movie would be a military one froma FPS and not just the stupid camera. Make it abit more real like seeing it in the eyes of a marine.

No, Diary of the Dead was just a rubbish film from the man. If he made it as well as his first few films, we wouldn't feel what you mentioned above. We expect from such a director. Unfortunately, it looks like he is going downhill. I hope I'm wrong with the new movie.

Fangoria had the pleasure of catching up with genre legend George A. Romero this past weekend at our annual Chicago Weekend of Horrors convention. Naturally, his new zombie opus was the first thing on our minds. “I do not have a title for the movie yet,” the director laughs. “Right now it’s just called …OF THE DEAD, although I kind of wish I could just name it DIARY OF THE DEAD PART 2. What I can tell you about the story is that it is going to be focused on what is happening in the world right now. The atmosphere is a little different after the Bush years, but I still sense some uncertainty. I guess I would say that it’s about some bigger problems. It looks at how we choose to represent ourselves, and maybe the current financial crisis is as good a time as any to explore how people come together in the face of crisis.”
