STAR WARS: RETROSPECTION - Desecration

"I've noticed," Rianna replies. She pauses for a moment. "Look...I don't like Rand being in charge any more than you do. Less, probably. And I don't know if I'd be able to directly confront him, but...if you ever have any ideas to take him down, I'll help. But we're going to need more than just the two of us to do that."

"Nonsense. I am more than a match for Rand in a direct fight. We could have ended him right now!"

"No, Galder...you're not. Trust me when I say that. I've fought him myself before, remember? But that's not what I mean," Rianna replies. "If we want to get rid of him as being the leader, we're going to need the support of everyone else, or it won't last."

Galder sighs.

"You're right," Galder says.

Rianna moves to leave the room, but pauses before she exits. "And keep this in mind - I've known him a long time. Rand may know my weaknesses...but I know several of his as well. We'll just have to be patient and bide our time."

With that you are left alone with your thoughts to occupy you. You know that you won't ever be content until Rand is no longer in charge, but how long will it take? And will anyone else support you with this? This is something that will take a long time to accomplish, but is that amount of time something you really have?

"I don't think that went nearly as well as you had wanted it to. She very nearly did side with him against you."

"But it didn't happen. You worry too much. I can handle myself," Rand replies, taking a seat. Gallador simply frowns, and paces the room.

"You know that he offered to help me if you ever decided to turn on me, yes?" he asks, pausing for a moment.

"Of course, you told me of that. What of it?" Rand says non-chalantly.

"Do you think I'll be the only one he's going to approach in such a way? It's as you said, he is no leader, and his power is unforced, but he has the experience of having to make his own way, and he is quite a talented fighter," Gallador states. "And Rianna won't be so easily intimidated much longer."

"It would take both of them to even try and defeat me, and even that is no guarantee," Rand replies, though he seems slightly more troubled now.

"No, it's not. But it's enough of a chance that it could happen," Gallador says. "You'd best be careful and not take so much for granted. I said before that this would be a mistake."

Rand sits in silence, not responding to that, and after a few more minutes Gallador leaves. The former Jedi Master still does not speak, but instead stares off into space, a thoughtful and slightly troubled look on his face; had he indeed commited such an error?
