RETROSPECTION - Galder vs. Dusan

THE SETUP: Galder has just participated in more or less wiped out a small pirate clan, and is now facing their leader, a slightly insane Dark Sider. At this point, there's been enough violence that it's clear that one of the two is not going to survive this confrontation. And if Galder wins, then he's free to look for the Sith holocron he's supposed to be fetching...

ANALYSIS: You have no idea how good Dusan really is, or what sort of style he favors. Galder, though, is definitely more than decent with a lightsaber. We'll have to see on this one...

Pick your six moves! Dusan has invited you to make the first move.

3 Strength, 2 Dex, 1 Agility, for good measure.

Decent enough.

To open the duel, Galder tests Dusan's defenses with simple lashes of his blades, hoping to see where his opponent's strengths and weaknesses lie.

Weak Dexterity.

And so the duel starts.

Dusan played Normal Strength, winning with a slight edge; he met each of your slashes with his own blade, before suddenly smashing your red blade away, leaving your defenses open for a moment.

Galder to defend.

Dusan presses in with a quick attack, whirling his lightstaff around quickly before pressing in with a slash at your side.

Rather than meet the blow evenly, Galder repositions himself after his defenses are left open ever so briefly. He tightens up his defense as he twists out of the blade's reach.

Agility Strong.

His move was a Normal Agility, and so Galder's increased skill with a lightsaber as well as the extra point for playing a Strong move gives him the point this round; Dusan overbalances slightly as you twist away from him, before hopping back, holding his lightsaber diagonally in front of him.

Galder to attack.

Not satisfied with Dusan having ample room to maneuver, Galder comes at him with a series of strong blows designed to push him off the dais and toward one of the courtyard's corners.

Weak Strength

Dusan plays a Normal Strength, and so you win the point again; he meets each blow easily, but is forced to give up ground in doing so.

Galder to defend.

Dusan watches, circling you warily, before moving in with a precise jab at your chest.

Galder times his response as Dusan shifts his lightstaff forward in a jab. He bends his knees to lower his body, then springs up with a burst of strength. He brings both blades crashing upward into the jab to throw it upward and send Dusan off-balance.

Normal Strength.

Galder is on a roll, correctly reading and countering Dusan's moves and proving his superiority. The crazy pirate's classical jab is no match for Galder's defense, and he's forced to back away a few steps so that he's not left vulnerable.

Galder to attack.

Galder keeps pushing Dusan back toward the corner, stomping over the bodies of Dusan's dead men as he launches a series of refined slashes designed to disorient his foe, going high then low then high then low with both blades.

Strong Dex.

Dusan's Strong Agility doesn't do him much good here; he's only just barely able to keep up with your slashes as he twirls his lightsaber and tries to twist out of the way.

Galder to defend; match point.

Dusan stands back for a moment and watches for an opening to make an attack before striking with his lightsaber, first at your left and then at your right sides.

Galder puts up a solid defense, snapping his lightsabers strongly into his incoming blows before forcing himself forward and putting himself in a lock with Dusan. Having pushed Dusan back, he slowly angles the weight on his sabers to push Dusan's staff downward, bringing the Dark Sider to his knees. Once it is low enough, Galder steps on the hilt of Dusan's staff and kicks it from his hands.

"Goodbye, Dusan," Galder says before decapitating him.

Normal Strength.

Once again Galder's strength and skill with a lightsaber proves to be superior; Dusan may have been good but apparently not good enough. He tries desperately to break out of the lock that you hold his sabers in as you push down, but to no avail.

Duel over, and Galder is the victor...
