Your 2010 Halloween films...

Just wondering what all my fellow Horror buffs will be watching this Halloween (If anything) . I'll be pulling a small marathon while passing out candy.

Usually, I withhold from watching certain movies all year, so I can enjoy them on Halloween.

My list, so far, strictly Classics.

1) Halloween, 1978 (NOT the shitty Zombie bastardization)

2) Phantasm 1

3) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (Original)

4) Re-animator

how dare you slate the Zombie! but.... I aint seen any of his halloween movies I am just a fan of his music haha.

I dont really realise there are scary/harror type movies on at Halloween until it's too late.
I did catch the beginning and about 80% of Halloween Ressurection but it was boring. It has inspired me to watch the originals all over again, yes even H20 haha.

1. Nightmare Before Christmas, every year

2. An American Haunting - never seen it, so watching it tonight

I've been watching a few horrors over the last week thanks to the fact that I've been playing Alan Wake and so wanted to work my way through the horror movies in my collection that fit the same "supernatural/monster force in small American town" theme.

So far I've watched the following.

Phantoms
Silent Hill
Storm of the Century
The Mist

I'll be watching The Fog tonight though.

Most people will consider the films above to be pretty crap but I have to say that Colm Feore as Andre Linoge is one of the best bad guy portrayals ever.

If anyone can recommend any other good small town based horrors then suggestions are welcome.

Jacksons Thriller and Trick or Treat so far.

The Fog, The Mist, and Silent Hill are fabulous, not crap at all. Haven't seen the others in your list.

Phantoms has quite a cast for a Dean Koontz adaptation...Ben Affleck, Liev Schreiber, Peter O'Toole, Rose McGowan.

Affleck.... you were the bomb in Phantoms Yo!

I am torn between Nightmare Before Christmas.... I class it as a xmas film, it even says so in the title haha,

The Fog is one of my biggest dislikes haha, however Silent Hill was a pleasure of mine

Nightmare Before Christmas is both, and it's in Halloween land more than Christmas town. So 😛

So why didnt they call it Nightmare After Halloween.... haha that sounds terrible.

The original?...Seriously?...It's a masterpiece. The opening scene with John Houseman telling the story around the campfire is one of the best openings to any horror film ever.

For me, the only scene which can match it is Donald Pleasence discussing Michael Myers in the original Halloween.
