There also appears to be a sizable gap in power between KC and mainstream Supes.

Someone once told me this wasn't kc Supes but from another reality. I can't remember which Supes they stated and it was a while ago and my memory is foggy on this.

KC Supes hearing is so good, he can hear a cell split.

New earth superman was clearly sucker punched.

The JSA KC Supes wasnt nearly as powerful as the original KC supes who could keep up with KC flash (so fast he existed on multiple plains of existence at once).
JSA KC supes needed help from amazing man and powergirl lifting a building and wasnt even the strongest maybe of the JSA at the time (Citizen steel)

Just because he tanked a punch from herc does not mean that he is tanking one from hulk... someone who is more powerful.

He was unable to keep up with the flash... this was proven when he told captain marvel that he wasn't fast enough to catch an uncontrollable flash but he told captain marvel that with his god speed, that cap should be able to catch him (which he did).
