Either he had three hands (One holding back her dagger, one holding onto her hair, and then it says "with his other hand, he struggled at his belt for a dart."😉 or Mara is still alive and Caedus never existed.

Lame writing, but it's canon.

Is it possible in anyway shape or form he was using one of the other hands to get his dart?

Hand holding back dagger putting that towards his chest. Dead Caedus. No.
Hand holding Mara's head going to his belt. Incest? No.
Hand holding dagger and hair being the same one? Possibly. Been ages since I read the book anyone want to post the quote?

He summoned his own weapon back to his hand and Mara crashed into him, knocking him flat again and pinning him down. Her vibroblade stopped a hand span from his throat as he managed to grab her hair and drag her face nearer and nearer to his lightsaber. one hand on the lightsaber, one on her hair. She struggled to pull back, hacking at him with the shoto but blocked by his dwindling Force power each time. Her vibroblade grazed his neck. He fumbled in his belt for a dart. With WHAT did he fumble in his belt?

I think after Mara's vibroblade grazed his neck, the author intended for another line describing him letting go of her hair. Poor oversight on the editor's part.
