Only it actually doesn't. You made that up.
Cause being a badass is an officially defined word, right? awesome
However, my definition is superior to yours bey default, no matter what, infinity not take-backs. estahuh

If a hammer, over-emotional character has a strong will, and fights to the end for what he believes in, he is badass.
Not really. It's way more complicated than that. If you had stipulated "fights when something annoys him", then, yeah, you'd be right.

Alucard is BORING BORING BORING. I admit, he can be thought of as "badass," but there is no real depth to the character whatsoever. I am biased against him. 😐
Then your list will definitely suck. 😐

Kenshiro was badass and he cried, several times.
I never saw that. He was awesome, but not a badass. He was the quiet hero type, not the badass type.
Another one to add to the list:
Daizemon Kaze.

He only lives to fight the strongest. He beat the shit out of an entire gang of Yukuza (like, 200 dudes) at once. He is supposed to be human with no super powers. The Yukuza had swords, pipes, bats, knives. No guns, though.
He then took on gigantic alien raptors WITHOUT that protective suit, breaking their necks and knocking them out with punches. He took automatic gunfire to his knees, point blank, without even flinching until the gun severed his legs at the knees (which is how he almost died)...he did this would choking the "bad guy" straight up the in the air.
The unflenching, cool attitude is what makes him a badass. Out of "human level" human characters, he is one of the most badass...up there with Frank Castle, for sure.
