There'll be mysteries to solve on the island, such as discovering the motivations of the natives, the gravitional pull of the island and the origins of the graveyard of sea vessels littering the shoreline

Agreed. It would have been a lot better if she had stayed silent while getting the shit beaten out of here by falling off cliffs and getting cut up and stuff. More believable, too. Who screams in terror when facing certain death? Really unrealistic, imo.
