Seems very old and I still don't know enough about this character. It seems like death is portrayed as much more powerful since then anyways but I'd still need to know more and actually read comics with this character in them.

That's not the point. The point is that you said something that hasn't happened, which proves that you haven't been keeping up.

Galactus gets weak when he deals with Thanos and Thanos can't stay dead. Logical conclusion Thanos defeats him.

The green stuff around Galactus is an alien swarm from the negative zone charged with the power of the chaos king. This is issue 4 of the Chaos War. It is the last reference I know of currently with Galactus and the Chaos King. It is not a direct confrontation between the Chaos King and Galactus. The last one being the CK disguised as Zeus. And it does not show Galactus "actually" defeated.... although from the panels I can see how it can be assumed that it happened off panel.. it never actual shows his death like the issues have shown with skyfathers getting killed/defeated.
