That shouldn't matter. A question like that was asked in the early 90s the writers simply said that characters aged very slowly in the MU. Tony Starks may have been in the Vietnam war (not actively).

The thing is in the letter section I'm pretty sure he mentioned that Reed Richards had been a pilot during WW2 or something like that.
