Spartans and Orcs

The 300 Spartans face off against the infantry and cavalry part of the army that attacked Minas Tirith. They know they are on a suicide mission, but if they do not fight the orcs then they know Sparta will burn and Greece will fall. All 300 are there, with another 200 greek warriors of almost-equal skill level (they stil have to be elites, right =-p)
There are no Nazgul, no Mumakil, and no other wordly things, straight orcs and guys on horses. The Eye cant see them. Battle takes place starting with a phalanx at the main gates of Minas Tirith. Reinforcements are 2 weeks off. How long do the spartans hold out?

There was like, what, a quarter million at Pelennor? Orcs and Uruks aren't slaves and rabble, it took overwhelming opposition to make them flee. And Pelennor isn't the Hot Gates; a huge grassy plain is gonna make it easy for the Spartans to be surrounded.

Spartans all die within 20 minutes.

True they get swarmed out of formation.

Not to mention those giant elephants,

He said no Mumaks.

They get swarmed anyways.

They were getting swarmed at Thermpylae

Should i make the starting position farther back or reduce orc numbers?

Ill do either, but also, the orcs are a bit of cowards, when they see one spartan start slaughtering countless orcs, they wont stay there for very long

And remember, at the moment they are in a phalanx at the gate, they cant be swarmed from behind.

Cos it's generally the Greeks that go in from behind.

Well, seemed a logical place to put them with numbers at 1000 to 1

I was just making a joke, threads alright.

Also, the Spartans took down giant elephants of their own. Though arguably, the terrain is what helped them again.

Dont forget the 1 spear throw Mega-Rhino kill

Or that one thing that Leonidas stabbed in the eye and stomach that still lived.....

Place the Spartans in Minas Tirith itself, like at the gate or something. They'd have a much better chance. I'd like to see them go up against Olag-hai.

Heh, the Olog-Hais will be fun....

But there was that 10 foot tall giant thing that threw that axe...

Not as strong as a troll, but more durable

Also, this isnt their standard equipment. They have elvish made arms, bronze isnt NEARLY as good, they also have mithril helmets (for all the good they will do with their chest unprotected)
