Surfer doesn't get his board for this fight, he is grounded.

This is classic wondy.

Surfer, though not the stomp some people are implying (Diana has considerable experience fighting "blind" and against teleporting/multi-vector superfast attacks).

The board doesn't affect Surfer's fighting ability much at all, it's his transit primarily. He doesn't hit people with it, or block attacks.

It's a real fight where Surfer holds the advantage before, and the situation barely changes without the board.

The board is just an extension of himself isn't it?
He should be able to do pretty much everything as normal without it.
The board I guess just enables less concentration during warp flights.

Pretty much. When it was destroyed by Jesus Cable, he didn't seemed all that put out and simply reformed it too.

Well, not at all. He still can fly, and he's far, faaar faster that Diana. Add to that the fact that he can teleport and bfr her if he's in trouble, and you have an another victory to Surfer.

The creator of this thread specifically says he is grounded. And even if he could fly, compared to the mobility he has on his board, it would be rather wise for him to stay on the ground.

Why didn't the Hulk and the warbound then destroy a weakened Surfer in a melee fight then ?

he has too much for Diana. intangible, teleport, bfrs, matter manip, etc. etc. she aint ko'ng him b4 he gets off something creative.
