S'why what-ifs are NEVER a good way of gauging powers. I remember a What-If that Galactus killed Uatu as well.I think it was "What if the Avengers faced Galactus" or something or other...
Thats exactly the What If where Galactus one shots Uatu; then eats him with his tech...
What If's are even less consistent than main stream comicbook stories when it comes to consistency...
Well Uatu was on the ground unconscious after Galactus's initial attack...so he couldnt resist.
When the fight begun, Galactus was about to eat Earth but Uatu stopped him (grabbed his arm; Galactus was about to activate his matter/energy converter) and attacked Galactus...Galactus's counter attack (his eye beams) then put Uatu down for the count...

Did Uatu resist?
Duh! he did. In fact he attacked Galactus during that story when the Galactus was about to munch on the planet. He went: "I must now violate my vow for I cannot stand idly by while you destroy this planet" and Galactus went "*****! dont ever stand between a man in a purple suit and his fried chicken!"...!
They fought, Uatu died and I think in the end, Galactus felt guilty about Uatu's sacrifice and left the planet...
Or something or other...

Sweet! That Uatu tried to pacify Galactus and got injured.
#200 Watcher simply willed him dead.

Galactus did feel bad about killing Uatu and took his body back to the other Watchers in the end...
But in that What If, Galactus defeated Uatu pretty easily; Uatu punched Galactus and knocked him into a building then Galactus struck him down with his eyebeams...
It was over that fast...

GREAT! Uatu tried to punch Galactus.....a bad move.
In #200 he simply willed Galactus to die.
Big difference.
When Uatu is fazed by an attack he can't act.
I'm not buying any of it. Just skimming through the Uatu respect thread, I see that almost none of the things that was posted still hold true. The other feats Uatu's had which might still be relevant are mostly non-combat feats like him creating a version of the Fantastic Four. I'll address the important ones.
1- "Uatu has the power to shatter worlds and set galaxies to trembling...
http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/...rv118819vd7.jpg"
That's why one of his peers totally survived the herald my rage blast which only destroyed one galaxy without a scratch? Oh wait...
2-"The narrator calls the Watcher the most powerful being in the galaxy...
http://img179.imageshack.us/img179/...nse05523fk3.jpg"
This was said before any of the real Marvel powerhouses such as Galactus, Eternity, Living Tribunal, Thanos, etc. had made their appearances. Out dated.
3- "Eon refers to the Watcher as nearly omnipotent...
http://img145.imageshack.us/img145/...asar6013ze1.jpg"
Wtf? Eon actually says "near omniscient". Out of context.
"Telekinetically pulls Galactus's original ship out of orbit...
http://img516.imageshack.us/img516/...lactus12sk0.jpg"
This is from the Last Galactus Story. Non canon. And it's not uatu.
4- "Uatu had the power to stop (or at least impede) the Magus' plan of merging the universe he created with 5 Cosmic Cubes with the 616 universe, but he doesn't because of his vow of non-interference: http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/...atcherpower.jpg"
What a load of bs. Galactus was sent to Death's realm when the CCs blasted him, yet Uatu would actually dare think that he stands a chance at stopping the Magus?
-----------------
This only decent feats he's had which could be used in combat would be his time/space manipulation.
Like this one:
"Uatu demonstrating the options available to him with his time/space powers...

The thing is we saw how easily Thanos withstood effects similar to that in his quest (issue number 1) before the Infinity Gauntlet.
Thanos wins by punching Uatu in the head like that other guy who's name ended with 'ulk' and started with the letter r.
