SSBB Melee was OK as a semi serious fighter but it was not on purpose nor was that game anything 2 whoop and hollar about competitively, still. The game sold close 2 10 Million units and there is still no push 4 the game 2 B Ntered @ any reputable tournies.

This is gonna be Nintendo VS Capcom. Hopefully, the fighting engine will be akin MVC...or TVC. O'course Nintendo's in it, so it's gonna be a Wii exclusive. Hey wait a minute, that's the same console TVC is on! That was a really good game no one respects and not anywhere near as many people bought (should have bought it, it was good)...all cuz of the "Wii-Factor". But wait, Mario Pikachu and Link are in it! Kids all around the world will buy this game, see that it's not at all like Samsh and take it right back to the store.
It's on the Wii, so SF and MVC fans aint gonna buy it and/or take it serious. So I'm just gonna sit back and lmbao at the sad truth. Don't mind me.

And yeah, fact is most Wii owners do not respect the genre, they are casuals.
Granted, I haven't been involved in the game for a long time, but I'm pretty sure that Brawl still has some of the biggest tournaments around. There is a large niche for Nintendo fighters.
And I wasn't including all those anime fighting games they pump out. All of the Naruto ones, all of the DBZ ones, possibly Bleach, and I am pretty sure there are some more around that I don't know about. All of them get players.

No Brawl does not. Evo destroys ALL tournaments of every genre (maybe not those damn RTS tournies). Even the Halo tournies can't pull in a crowd the way MVC2 or Blazblue can (didn't even mention SFIV or Tekken 6, the juggernauts). The genre's still niche, but the fanbases are very loud and active.
And those anime fighters are not really fighters in the same vein as Guilty Gear or Soul Calibur.
