How could you say he didn't expect it.. He punched Zeus first.. he was LOOKING for a fight.. they were posturing for a fight.. Zeus words indicate they were going to fight. This is EXACTLy how most fights start in real life and in comics.. two guys facing off.. talking crap.. and then one HAS TO start it off.. and it's usually when the other person is still talking or they throw a punch when they are still talking crap... Anyway that doesn't change the fact that he had only used lighting bolts before , Zeus states that he was going to beat Hulk to death then continues to keep using lightning bolts. Y'know what I would kinda think that Zeus would keep using lightning bolts.

Yes, I understand that, but he still has all of his powers he has shown without the hammer and is willing to use them. Not to mention while Hulk would be in his typical mindsight, Thor will likely be out for blood. Thor's other powers he has shown without Mjolnir includes weather manipulation and the ability to unleash his own divine energies from his body for starters. Thor's lightning have injured Hulk before and his rain has been enough to restrict his movement severely.
And Abomination and Super Adaptoid =/= Thor under these circumstances.
