I honestly think Death gets annihilated by it though; even though it was a "What If" I am pretty sure everything got erased by the Ultimate Nullifier (when Korvac was using it) except for the Living Tribunal (who fled prior to it being fired) and Oblivion...
The funny thing is, this universe, the Korvac annihilated one, was referenced by 616 Eternity or something as he was mourning for his lost brother (aka the destroyed Eternity in that reality).
At the very end of the original Korvac What If, Death is seen laughing it's ass off as the universe gets nullified. The narrator even mentions that it was Death that planned the whole thing all along, that it was Death that was Korvac's secret master.
And Korvac had Cosmic Awareness at the time so when he fired that sucker off he knew what he was doing, he wanted everything destroyed. Yet Death still survived.
I'm thinking she survives it but I could be wrong. I think the whole UN plot device thing is getting old though.
Worth noting that Quasar was gonna use it to kill Magus with an incomplete IG (missing the Reality Gem I believe), but he turned the beam back on Quasar. Things to note : Quasar was a UN virgin and had NO cosmic awareness (or other form of omniscience). The UN requires you to fully understand the thing you want erased.
Yo.

He'd figure out a way to use perfectly placed paper clip to short out the nullifier. All he needs is an endless supply of junk food to power that brain of his.
say WHA??????
I dont think I can agree w/that comrade........

Thank you for that scan. Galan did you read my post about Universe/Earth/Paradise X?
The only part of the saga that is suspect, are the parts regarding the nature of the multiverse that were revealed throughout the story (specifically, the parts that referenced Mephisto's creation of alternate realities, I'd wager.) Regardless, that doesn't change Thanos' feat with the UN, nor does it change the fact that Earth X itself is a canon Marvel universe.

This is true but the entire series was canceled abruptly and the fact that it has to have the disclaimer in the Alternate Universes Handbook makes the entire thing suspect to me.
It received a retcon mid story if I recall correctly too. It went from being the Marvel Universe 30 years into the future to an alternate universe (with suspect information).
This has never been retconned and I think was referenced by 616 Eternity (he was mourning for his lost brother) :
The last panel is key. Korvac with ultimate awareness of life/death unleashes the power of the nullifier and Death laughed it's ass off.
Contrast this to Thanos with NO cosmic awareness just pointing and shooting Death point blank in the face.

Originally posted by zopzopKorvac's intention there was just to nullify the universe/Eternity, no? Not surprising that Death survived an attack that wasn't even meant for her. Essentially the same thing happened in The End -- ie. Thanos destroyed the universe, and Death survived because she was not in the universe at the time. /shrug

On another note, the Watcher's comment in the last scan is truly lulz-worthy. "The number of the alternate universes in the multiverse shall ever be one less than infinite" -- what idiot writer decided that statement made sense..?
Stupid Marvel. srsly

But it's also true that the series was ended abruptly and it received a retcon before the ink was dry. That plus the note in the Handbook makes the entire reality suspect.

Check the narration, he beheld creation in it's entirety "from the completeness of life to the simplicity of death". So when he unleashed that sucker it was meant to end everything.

Oh the entire issue was idiotic, the LT fleeing from Korvac, Korvac panicking from an alien armada after he just got through owning a few cosmics, etc... But the Universe/Earth/Paradise X crap was even worse 😄 Mutant X was actually decent and was referenced later in Exiles too.

I didn't comment on the rest because frankly, I don't care.
