Iron Man's always ranged wildly in tiers, imo. He generally can hang with a legit herald for a moment or longer if he's prepared for them. And Iron Man was depowered before then, too; he's been on the run with crappy tech ever since Secret Invasion and has gotten progressively worse. I don't think he's significantly far greater than Extremis at this point, but I do think it feels more like natural progession.
I mean, Tony's entire character is based around upgrading himself or his armors.

meh ive hated tony since the Civil War...he's such a douche, and the whole downloaded memory thing is kinda lame to me, hopefully they dont make him complete cyborg like the did rhodes
