Technically he did fuse with the sword. I mean all that was left was the hilt. Even if he never gained the full power of the sword, he should have at least some of it.

agreed. But we don't know.

superman did absolutely nothing noteworthy with the sword. there's NO reason to wank him/it.

that said: galactus pwns. solar energy absorption ftw.

At the end of that pre crisis comic it say Supes was becoming omni-present with the sword (not in those scans). If that's the case that's very impressive, because I don't think you can ever be trully omnipotent (within whatever finite space) without being omni present within that space.

the dialogue was ambiguous at best. the notion that supes /w/ the sword was some sort of omnipotent being certainly isn't back by any on panel happenings -- that's all i'm saying.
